Turning Demons! to Modern or Legacy!

Hi there TappedOut Community!

I made this gimmick demons deck for fun, mostly to play at home with friends. That being said, we do a fair amount of tuning, even for casual games, so I want to get it running a bit faster.

A bunch of these cards are rotating out of Standard soon, and I'm interested in trying to speed it up (or just strengthen it generally) to turn it into a Modern or a Legacy deck. One issue I'm having, however, is that I'm relatively new to MTG (I learned starting with Avacyn Restored), and I don't have a good base knowledge of the older cards.

I'm looking for recommendations pertaining to the following:

1) Any recommendations for speeding the deck up for the few months left in which it will be Standard legal.

2) Suggestions for ways to speed it up (and generally strengthen it) in the other formats.
