New to magic and cannot build for my life!

I'm looking for help to build a UB control type deck.

Current Deck I built looks like this:

2 Gatekeeper of Malakir

1 Sorin Markov

1 card:Sorin's Vengeance

2 Lashwrithe

2 Sangromancer

2 Vengeful Pharaoh

4 Mana Leak

10 Island

15 Swamp

1 Consume Spirit

2 Diabolic Tutor

2 Mind Rot

2 Distress

2 Mind Control

2 Merfolk Mesmerist

2 Royal Assassin

2 Solemn Simulacrum

2 Ponder

1 Drowned Catacomb

2 Frost Titan

SB: 2 Flashfreeze

SB: 4 Duskhunter Bat

SB: 2 Master Thief

SB: 4 Doom Blade

SB: 1 Despise

SB: 2 Grasp of Darkness

any suggestions would be greatful, especially if you build a deck!

Go to the deck builder and add this as an actu deck so it's easier to read and give feedback on:

Merfolk Mesmerist is not control; it is mill, and thus does not belong in a control deck.

I agree. A more control version is Merfolk Looter , in my opinion.
