I want to make a modern deck based around the tricky fae from lorwyn, shadowmoor, the rougue like ones as well
I dont know where to start actually...
Im a standard player, i know the in's and out's of standard...but everything else i dont know where to begin with since i have know idea alot of the cards. up until alara.
I need help with making the land base for a faeries deck and what to include other than spellstutter sprites and vendilion cliques etc...
Help!
For good reason!! lol i used to run one Oona, Queen of the Fae , some card:Oona's Blackguard, Scion of Oona , Faerie Harbinger , Glen Elendra Liege Puppeteer Clique is nice as is Sower of Temptation then i ran a couple of Notorious Throng for a laugh with some Ponder and Cancel and then just beat the shit outa stuff lol with some extra turns flying around and a few side board Damnation just in case and finally DO NOT for get the most important part, the awesome shadowmoor block land Sunken Ruins i freaking love these lands! :-) it was more effective with the Bitterblossom granted but damn it still works. i used to throw in some Phyrexian Arena for card draw and Miren, the Moaning Well for life gain too hope this helps

Well im also going to be playing bitterblossom and skull clamp if I switch to legacy.

Im looking at most of the dual lands is that good? I dont feel right not playing wth basic lands.

the only problem with mostly duals is they can slow you when they keep coming into play tapped so be aware

I think he is referring to the ones that don't come into play tapped. You know, Underground Sea , Watery Grave , and Underground River .

Id prefer to keep it newer and kinda cheaper since i dont have the ability to drop that much on just land...

Creeping Tar Pit
Darkslick Shores
Drowned catacombs
Secluded Glen
Sunken Ruins
Since they are a bit more readily available to me

Ah, then yes, be aware of the problem that most of them come into play tapped or require another land to activate (Sunken Ruins ). That could cripple you in Modern or Legacy. Depending on what you're playing against of course.

And since I'm going to (for legacy) be playing with thoughseize and bitterblossom (Modern I'm a bit more...able to wrap my mind around it along with the pain land/underground river) should I get the fetchlands...and ravnica lands for the famous T1 fetch a rav land? dropping me to 17?
I mean, I can see how the lands entering tapped would be slow and dangerous...but what lands should I really be using without them getting really out of my pricing? I mean I am going to be working on it slowly...
and what creatures and spells should go into it...I know the cliques (vend 2x and mistbind 3-4) 4 spellstutters, scion of oona... sowers? maybe a single oona herself? BlackGuard and pestermite? I'm so indecisive on this since I have no idea what I'm really going up against.
Spell wise I know cryptic command is a given, I'm thinking of a single notorious throng, I don't know much else saddly other than thoughtseize..

Kind of hard to do in Modern since Bitterblossom is banned.
