I think I'm happy with this deck list: Varolz's Scars and Skaabs. Self-mill Scavenge deck, featuring Varolz, the Scar-Striped . Almost every non-creature card in the deck is dedicated to throwing creatures into the graveyard. The best Scavenge targets are Skaab Ruinator (five +1/+1 counters for three mana), Splinterfright (X +1/+1 counters, where X is the number of creatures in the graveyard), and Gravecrawler (two +1/+1 counters for a Swamp). Those three creatures do just as well on the field, though, and since most of the horde are Zombies, the Diregraf Captain makes my live creatures just as dangerous as my dead ones.
