Wanting to rebuild one of my first decks...

Deck Help forum

It wasn't too long ago I first got into Magic. I made a few craptastic decks that my group promptly and mercilessly destroyed, and then I stumbled upon Aura Gnarlid in the common bulk at my local card shop.

First game I play, it is turn five and I am tossing around enough damage to actually get some attention. Still, it wasn't much of a contender.

The idea was simple, I pull out an Aura Gnarlid, throw a bunch of crap on it, and swing with a 15/15 more-or-less-unblockable creature. It was fun, simple, easy to play, and I was actually able to win on occasion.

Time went by, I made more (better) decks and Nasty Gnarlids found a place in the back of my drawer.

I'd like to rebuild it in a way that it still looks like the old joy -my first "good" deck- but can properly compete with the people I play with now-days.

I would appriciate any advice and help, and I am having a bit of trouble filling to empty gaps. (I'd love to just play it at 40 cards!)

tl;dr? Deck no good, make better.
