Ways to beat Maze's End
Deck Help forum

So, I have a Gr Midrange/devotion build that I use for FNMs. I have almost no problems except that people in my shop have started to use a lot of Maze's End Turbo Fog decks which are annoying as heck. Are there any side-board cards that I could use? I have 2 Ruric-Thars and 1 pithing needle. I know I should probably put in more needles but are there any other good cards out there?

What deck are you playing? Another option is Encroaching Wastes .

My biggest problem is not the maze's end. It's more of the fog effects. Are there any god ways to stop them?

I think you should get at least another Pithing Needle and work you way into bringing out Ruric Thar, the Unbowed faster. Ruric alone should take care of your fog problem. In any case, it' be easier for us to help you if you post your decklist.

Pithing Needle is a sure way to kill it, or play land destruction. Maze's End sucks though....lol

As Slasa said Ember Swallower stops Maze's End dead. Skullcrack is definitely a good option as well when you can deal lethal - play that and bam - game.

I think I might go the Burning Earth route as that also helps in the esper and UWR matchups and all other 3 color decks

I second Burning Earth . Ember Swallower , Skullcrack , etc are all fine, but they are still cards that they can win through. The Maze's End deck all but folds to Burning Earth if they don't have an answer for it.

It's worth noting that Skullcrack has some other applications as a sideboard card, as it is good against Sphinx's Revelation , as well as more unusual stuff like Whip of Erebos , Archangel of Thune and Trostani, Selesnya's Voice .
Burning Earth is indeed a good option, as it is very strong in control matchups.

these are all great threats to maze's end...but ill be honest...mazes end is not bad right now....its very well positioned game 1 against all but burn...and their sideboard can support any answers, as they are 5 colors....The Ender's Game is my mazes end deck...and its solid.

Djinn is right. Maze's End seems to do really well at our shop. There are about 3 people out of 10-15 who play it but it might get more popular as it continues to win. It beats creature decks and beats control because it can get it's win condition faster because neither interacts with the other. Like he said, the sideboard is also very versatile. The only problem is that it goes to time WAY too often.

Skullcrack cant help so they can't prevent damage that is being dealt, making their fog useless

I once played against a kid who was playing a pretty solid Mazes end deck, pre innistrad rotation. I won game one, thanks to my deck being super aggro at the time, game two I sided in four Skullcrack s, got three in my opening hand.
He played two Saruli Gatekeepers s and a Thragtusk without gaining any life.
It was wonderful. So I suggest Skullcrack

I'm familiar with the Maze's End turbo fog deck going around, I've played against it on mtgo and a guy ran in at my LGS tonight, that deck can mainboard Merciless Eviction which hoses a Pithing Needle the turn they have all 10 gates.
Mill is a thing, if you wanted to screw with their elaborate win-con.

Pithing Needle shuts down mazes end decks and makes them pretty much useless. The if you get two and shut down Crackling Perimeter they can't win.

I also played against a pretty solid Maze's End deck. Wasn't much of a problem for a Land-Mill Deck.

Ember Swallower perhaps? Bramblecrush , Demolish , or Frenzied Tilling
