before fnm I was running deck:spheres
but I learnt that It left myself too open to attacks and Sphere of Safety is just too slow a defense in 1v1 standard.
so after some trades this is my new and improve u/w
deck:exalt-a-stalk
I do need something to deal with Supreme Verdict
any and all opinions are more than welcomed!
fair enough, It was too slow as the protection for which I needed in the theme of the deck i was playing.

I ran Jace, Memory Adept as my win-con, since my opponent would likely never be able to attack me by my sixth or seventh turn.

Decks focused around Sphere of Safety are really good against aggro decks and can even grind out long games against control. The problem with your deck is the fact that it is trying to do to much. You have little to no control to get you into the late game and once you are there Bruna is just a win-more card because once you have your opponent locked out, there isn't much he can do to push through damage. I would highly suggest going back to the spheres deck because if played and built right, it will not only provide you more wins than your deck:exalt-a-stalk deck, but it may even be more fun for you (depending on how much of a troll you are). If you go back into spheres I would suggest cutting creatures completely and focusing on an alternate win condition such as mill as zandl pointed out. Adding green as a third color offers you a faster game with Farseek , Abundant Growth , and Mana Bloom all bettering your mana base and offering some ramp. Not to mention growth and bloom are both enchantments, thus fueling your spheres. A late Touch of the Eternal means that your opponent is almost all but shut out from defeating you. If speed is your problem at fnm you may also find that exalted is somewhat slow as well when you are staring down a board full of zombies or a silverblade paired with a Loxodon Smiter . So why not just play the deck that offers the better win percentage?

I understand what your saying, but I just don't have most of those cards or the cash/trade value to get them all right now and I am iffy about keeping around bruna because I don't think she will be optimal for the deck. The Knights of Glory are there more as defense against black and to beef up the stalker. I am not trying for full on exalted as much as to get my stalker to hit hard through enchantments and exalted if they happen to hit the field. The Sublime Archangel s are also there as stalker beef up. I do like the idea of running a mill or attrition deck, but I just don't have the means yet and in what seems as a black red green dominated fnm group beating them at their own game with angels and humans just seem awesome.
I am still iffy on a few things on this deck that feel like place holders, like the Lyev Skyknight and Knights of Glory.

Sphere of Safety isn't too slow. You just need to run it in a heavy control deck with 4x Detention Sphere , 4x Oblivion Ring , 4x Supreme Verdict , and 4x Terminus .
