I'm running a Green-White Phrexian Unlife, Melira, Sylvok Outcast deck. Should i run black for card:Black Sun's Zenith and Diabolic Tutor , or blue for counterspells and Spellskite ?

I would recommend running blue to protect the Unlife-Outcast combo.

I'm go with blue. 4x Mana Leak and a couple Dissipate or Stoic Rebuttal . You don't have a lot of protection it seems, other than your combo, so you need to protect your pieces once you get them out. You have access to card:Green Sun's Zenith to tutor Melira out, but there's not really a way to tutor the enchantment in GW. Between Manalith and Shimmering Grotto you should have enough access to black to throw a couple Diabolic Tutor s in if you want.

If you do decide to splash black with Manalith and Shimmering Grotto for mana, Increasing Ambition might be better than Diabolic Tutor because it only requires one black mana to play.

I'd say blue. You need counterspells to protect the combo, plus, why not run splicers? I had a friend who ran this combo and splicers to beat down your opponent while not taking damage.

Blue- definitely the best protection, plus tons of low-cost counterspells.

Well blue is great from control. But black has removal. It depends on what your going to be playing against.

I'm planning on taking to it FNM next week, so i'm assuming i'm gonna see Delver and Birthing Pod. Control would be nice against Delver, but i feel removal would be better agaisnt Pod. Hence my dilemma.

Okay, here's my idea. I don't know much about the rules behind sideboards except it has to be 15 cards. How about playing blue, with a sideboard that will make the deck black when you need it? Aginst delver, control will help, then switch out to black for removal for pod? it may work, it may not idk.

Since the combo is late-game, Mana Leak won't always protect it, especially if someone casts Naturalize on the Unlife with 6 lands open.
Mana Leak =/= Counterspell .

Mana Leak < Counterspell for sure, but it's not standard. Which leads me to Dissipate and Stoic Rebuttal which both cost two blue.

But splashing Blue just for counterspells never works, especially when those spells need 2 Blue to be cast.
