Will Thassa, God of the Sea work with this deck??

Dimir Monsters is the deck... i'm thinking about replacing the Wall of Frost in my deck, and Thassa would fit nicely right in the same spot, but does it make sense?? The ability to scry 1 every upkeep I think is huge, and the activated abilityis a cheaper alternative to and would replace the two Rogue's Passage . I'm just not sure if I'll ever have my devotion high enough to make Thassa a creature. Even still as an enchantment she's very useful. Should I consider adding Thassa even if I'm not sure the devotion will ever be high enough???

I personally don't think having Thassa, God of the Sea in your Dimir Monsters deck would benefit it that much because from what I seen it looks like your trying to do an aggro control deck with Dimir and not a lot of blue permanents to get use out of her as a creature. If you really want to try it out I would say only put in 2 at the most.

will she work...sure. does she fit well...no not really. as for the above comment any more than 2 of a legendary creature is risky business no matter the deck. Might as well just run Artful Dodge and avoid the mess.

Now assuming this were a dimir deck based around mill, with consuming abberation, Then I would say yes, ever time, however there is also Aqueous Form for unblockable. But, having a nice indestructible chump blocker is nice as well as the draw power.

In total, I suppose no then...

I could recommend Traumatize and Breaking though, as it seems to be based around mill. :D

No not really. Kind of an extreme exception I guess. Anything besides a deck souly built around legendarys generally isnt going to want multiple of them in hand on the reg. That deck is looking to pull of silly combos with them to win, most decks don't rely on that.

In my rush to get out the door this morning when I was typing this I misworded things a little bit. I'm not sure if this would change your guy's opinion, but the more thought I put into it, I would -2Rogue's Passage and -1Wall of Frost to add +2Thassa, God of the Sea and +1 LAND. This would actually help me reach my devotion because the walls have double U in their casting cost. That would give me a good chance for Thassa, God of the Sea to be an indestructible 5/5 for 3CMC and would serve the same purpose as the Rogue's Passage and with scry, I get to look at my card before I draw every turn. That will help me get my land drops so I can get out all of the big creatures I have. Like I said I'm not sure if the new arrangement where I keep a couple of the walls changes your opinion, but I'd still like to hear what you think about this set up.

@Mello.Mel if you read the description of the deck this is definitely not a mill deck, it's all about the creatures. Yes the abberations and Mirko Vosk force your opponent to mill cards but they're just really good creatures left over from when I was originally going to make this a mill deck. And even though I'm not intentionally trying to mill my opponent, milling is a great way to keep good cards out of your opponents hand and you can stop them from drawing land they may need. Also Mirko Vosk alone could mill half your opponents deck just by getting damage through a couple of times, that's a lot of cards they want but won't get.

Anywho I updated the deck list to reflect what the changes would look like if Thassa was added, it may still be tougher than I was thinking to reach my devotion so I don't know, but if you guys have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them. Originally I was making a mill deck and need good early defense. Those walls are excellent at what they're made for (blocking and deterring your opponent from attacking). Since i'm not going the mill route anymore I was thinking I should replace them with something that could be more offensive, which is why I thought maybe Thassa might fit, being an indestructible 5/5 for only a 3 drop. If Thassa isn't going to work, I may just leave them in so if you have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them.
