Would this combo work and be worth it?

Just wondering if something like this would work and if so how it could be best abused for a killer combo. Sac a creature, Postmortem Lunge said creature and attack, followed by casting silent departure or another unsummon to return creature to your hand and avoid exile. Your thoughts?

Yeah, it works. The exile ability is an end step triggered ability so if you just use unsummon before that or in respose to the trigger, the creature will go to your hand instead of exile.

there would be no point in returning it to your hand when you could exile the trigger and keep the creature on the field with Sundial of the Infinite .

You could theoretically get a combo off early in the game by using Forbidden Alchemy to put a fatty in your graveyard, but consider the cost of Postmortem Lunge . To be able to do appreciable damage, you would need to res something with considerable power, which would be very mana-intensive. You'll be leaving yourself open to counterspells and other answers while tapping down most (if not all) of your lands. It's better left as a utility card rather than a combo piece.

Hrmm didn't think of Sundial of the Infinite , I'm quite new to magic. Currently playing a modified deathfed event deck (deck:mills-to-pay-the-bills). I was looking at different ways to get key cards back from the graveyard such as Splinterfright and do some decent damage.

Probably not worth it. If you want to abuse Postmortem Lunge
, run a R/G Splinterfright
deck and flashback Kessig Cagebreakers
.
