ABUR Dual Lands: why such a difference in prices?

Why do the prices of ABUR dual lands vary so much? Plateau is only $58. Heck, thats like a Scalding Tarn. Then Tundra jumps up to $196. Thats like a Tarmogoyf. Then Volcanic Island skyrockets up to 3000 F*cking dollars!!! Why???? Why do they vary so much? What is the big difference?

Demand, some see more competative play then others. The blue ones are the most expensive.

Alpha and Beta ones are worth more. Revised/Unlimited less. They vary based on playability.

but from 50 dollars to 3000 is over the top in my opinion

Actually Volcanic Island is much closer to $270. That's just tappedout being silly.

Anyways, the blue ABUR Duals are worth so much more because blue is the most played color in Legacy. Plateau sees play in barely any decks, but Volcanic Island is a solid 4-of in many decks. When cards are wanted more, their value also increases. Laws of supply and demand.

Beta Volcanic Island is 3000 dollars. Revised Volcanic Island is ~$260.

Revised volcanics are $262 I'm not sure why Tapped out shows the alpha price for those.

The difference is in how powerful the color combination is. The blue ones are more sought after because blue is a powerful color in legacy. I can't off the top of my head think of any RW legacy decks, but I could name off a deck for almost each of the others.

Blue inclusive duals cast good cards. The best thing plateau casts is an aether vial.

Gidgetimer there is no alpha volcanic island. It's only beta for just that dual land, because they forgot to print them in alpha.

It would probably have been wise to double check the prices you're quoting to make sure they're credible and comparable.

Volcanic Island doesn't have an Alpha printing. That drives the beta printing up even more.

Blue duals are worth more because they are the backbone of legacy and vintage while the non blue duals see less play. Bayou sees the most play in Elves and storm and the others see even less.

Yea, basically what everyone else has said - blue is fucking stupid in Legacy so most of the meta tends to make decks that predominantly focus on that color. More people that want blue duals leads to them getting more expensive. Taiga saw play for a time when Delver saw play during the time of Treasure Cruise in some Temur variants that ran Kird Ape and wanted the turn 1 2/3 and Plateau was almost used for in Miracles (the deck settled for basic Mountains, if even more than one) and Marc Koenig, who won a GP with mono- Death & Taxes, uses it in his RW version of the deck to shit on people with Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon. Badlands sees some play in Jund and Storm decks. Generally, any of them below $100 are very minimally used and that explains the prices.

Taiga still sees play in Belcher.

Taiga is the main ABUR land in Kurt Spies' top 8 legacy-competitive green/red Lands deck, playing red primarily for Gamble, and green primarily for Life from the Loam. He mainboards four Wooded Foothills and four Taigas.

That's true, but concerning the Lands deck: a) it's really not popular at all, and b) most lists don't run a set of Taiga; you can run some varied green fetches, a Forest, and various green duals for the sideboard options. Belcher is also not really that widely seen. The card has to see very widespread play to drive its price up, but it doesn't; uncommon decks won't spike it.

Supple is huge there is like 68 revised duals for every unlimited one i think it was? Which translates into 68000 for every 1000, thats a huge difference in supply (i may ne thinking revised to beta)
