After DTK/FRF/KTK rotate out....What will happen to the prices of fetchlands? Will they drop back down to reasonable levels as they are no longer Standard legal/competitive?

I'm putting together a Modern deck that "requires" a playset of the one of the fetchlands, but this set alone is about 1/3 the cost of the entire deck, I'd rather not prematurely drop the cash now when I could have waited 6 months and getting them for a fraction of the cost...

They may drop, but not much. Fetchlands see a lot of play in Modern and Legacy, and will continue to see play unless Wizards prints a better manabase than fetches and shocks/ABUR duals.

I'd just pick them up now and get to play your deck for the extra six months. Even if they do go down a little, saving $5 or so isn't worth waiting the extra months to play.

Fetch lands are used in every format they're legal in, which right now is all of them. Don't expect them to go down any time soon.

DTK is not rotating with the rest of the Khans block.

Epoch, hence the "when X happens" I don't think I said they were all rotating out at once ;P

As for the rest of the replies, thank you for the info, it helps :)

They won't change like at all I'd bet.

They'll see a slight drop as Standard only players look to get rid of them, but after that they will increase to levels more expensive than they are now.

They might drop a touch when they rotate, but they'll climb back up relatively quickly. If you intend on going to many modern tournaments before rotation, pick them up as they will probably increase your win percentage, thus giving you more money in prizes, but if you just want them to fool around with, you could hypothetically proxy them for a few months and pick them up when they're low.

People who speculate on the values of the cards dropping will be just as disappointed when they were speculating on the Shocklands dropping - they won't. That's it.

Maybe a few dollars, but anyone who plays standard and has invested in fetchlands knows that they will only ever increase in value. Which is very different from any other land in Standard, even Shocklands.

They may drop to a little below where they were before the latest spike. Which means the blue ones won't dip much. But the prices will slowly increase unless the other fetches are reprinted.

Thank you all for the very helpful info and input, I'll just go ahead and pull the trigger on buying them :)

Shocks did drop though, they dropped about 10-20% of their value depending on the shock and then started to climb again. I foresee fetches doing the same. You are not going to get a fetch for $5 but you will probably get them for closer to $15 shortly after rotation and then they will climb again.

I wouldn't expect to see the fetches much below $20 again. Hit up E-Bay and get a playset of each around that price point now if you think you're ever going to need them for anything...even though I don't play much modern, I'm keeping mine in my EDH decks, ready to be pulled out in case I ever do slap another modern/legacy deck together, or if they do again become standard-legal. Even if the prices choke by a few dollars after rotation, they will recover quickly after.

Im pretty sure theyll go down a bit. the standard-only players will unload their copies and increase the supply slightly. You just have to watch the prices carefully.

I would expect all of the KTK fetches to easily break the $30 mark shortly after rotation, except maybe Windswept Heath. Provided they don't break it fairly soon anyway. We saw what happened to the Zendikar fetches when no reprints were announced in BFZ. I was looking to pick up some Marsh Flats for my Tokens deck, but they jumped to $40 apiece from $25 in the span of a night. And that was the cheapest one. Fetchlands are the constants of Magic; you must be playing Legacy Burn or some type of Rogue list if you're without them.

Also, im confident we will see the other fetches soon, and that will lower the demand for these ones. all the players who are using off colored fetches will have the proper colors.
