I have a friend who wants to alter his two Kraken tokens and thought I might be able to find someone to do the new artwork. Between the two of us, we have no idea how exactly the altering process works, including standard rates and such. Someone care to shed some light on the subject?

Uh... that site confuses me, lol. I was also thinking I could find someone on the site who would be willing to do it.

It's quite easy. You give then the card, with a description of what you want done, they paint it, and give it back.
A girl at my LGS does it for five dollars a card.
Got an awesome Jhoira of the Ghitu altered by her. Although, the only instructions I gave her were "no penises."

Hmm, well I really don't think he wants to shell out $45-60 for an alter, no matter how good they are. He'd definitely appreciate how well it looked, but broke high school student...

The guy doing my alter usually charges around $30-$35. The reason that mine was $50 was because i asked for a full art complete conversion, where the card is completely different. To put it into perspective - we talked about having the card painted sideways so that it was wide.

Damn, I feel lucky for my $5 alter.

Mine's from a professional artist anyway. He's been doing graphic design and painting for many years.

I've heard of people finding out how to contact the artist from a specific card and getting them to alter. Anyone have solid info on this. Im interested in doing this.
