Artist signed cards?

How much more are cards worth if they are signed by the artist? If there is a general price spike, that is. I'm sure it could be completely different depending on the card.

Varies from card to card. Rarity, playability in eternal formats and the Artist in question can all affect price but you can generally assume maybe another 2-3 dollars IMO

As there is no real price guide like scg or tcg typically the price is in the owners eyes or what someone else is willingto pay/trade for it, for example my signed and altered by Steve argyle Liliana of the Veil may be like 200$ to me but someone else may say it's worth less becomes someone doodled on it

Most dealers value cards less right off the bat if they're signed, taking a NM down to an MP. A lot of players, myself included, don't value signatures higher.

Long story short, get a card signed if you like it, don't expect to profit from it.

what ryuzaki32667 said: To me a Lily signed by Steve would be worthless. Why do you have to scribble on cards :O? Everyone rates them differently.

A lot of websites actually downgrade signed cards since there is writing on them.

I got my signed Celestial Colonnade much cheaper than my others.

It's hard to authenticate who has actually signed the card so I wouldn't trade for signed cards and they may be considered to be worth not as much.

Signed cards are tricky. You can sometimes get a few dollars extra per card, but you have to find the right taker. As evidenced by the discussion above, some people (and all stores) consider signed cards to be SP even if the card itself is NM. Signatures only add value if the other player acknowledges that signed cards are rarer or "cooler" than normal cards. You'll have to work out the premium with him or her.

Certain artists add more value than others as well, like Rob Alexanders, people love his lands but hes been doing them for so long and he offers to sign any cards you mail him as long as you include return postage so you dont even need to travel to events. (Issue came up with a signed foil delta).

Yeah, I'd check the tcgplayer average for that particular card in Damaged condition and that's all I'd be willing to give for a signed card.

Hmm, in that case I won't getting rid of them lol.

It's Burning Earth and a playset of Gainsay , but I use them frequently anyway.

DIdn't know they would go down. :C

@MaliciousMac: I wouldn't say the value went down. Again, it's all a matter of individual opinion. You just need to find the right taker if you want to gain value on those cards. Worst case, you keep them in your collection because they're cool.
