Basic Plains worth $225

According to Deckbox, the three basic Plains cards from Ice Age are worth something between $0.40 and $225. Were snow-covered lands so frequent that the normal variety is really worth that much? And if so, how do I find someone to buy the lands I've got?

There is no way a Snow-covered land is worth over $5, and that would be a mint condition foil.

I'm not sure how Deckbox gets their prices but just because someone has it listed at that doesn't mean it will sell for that. The high price on TCGPlayer is 65 cents to $1.10 depending on which art.

Those are near mint condition BTW

I think he's talking about the non-snow lands.

I meant the regular, NOT snow-covered plains were listed at between 0.40 and 225.

I found it odd, since I did some searching and couldn't find them more than about a buck elsewhere.

The Ice Age Plains are no more expensive than any other regular Plains.

Ah it appears that TCGPlayer may cut off outliers if they are too far out. I found the $225 one on there. It is from a shop selling one of them and the next highest price is 55 cents from a shop that has 20 near mint. Here it is. I am well aware that the topic at hand was the regular ones, I was just using the widget from TCGPlayer that MagicCards.info has instead of taking the time to look at the individual prices. It appears that however Deckbox parses their prices they don't take into account outliers from stores charging 500x market value.

I can't say I'm surprised that seller has received negative and neutral feedback.

Ah that makes sense. And is kinda funny, if mildly disappointing. As the saying goes, if it looks too good to be true...

I could see some Zendikar and Unglued/Unhinged lands going for $1-5 or so. A foil for $10-20. MAYBE an Alpha basic land for $5 or so, but $225?!?! What are they smoking?! And Ice Age didn't have foils. I think foils didn't come out until Odyssey, Torment, Judgment, or something like that. (I wasn't playing then...). Daze was in the set with early foils.

It appears to have simply been an error with entering a price. I can't find any of that other store's products to be overpriced anywhere near that drastically.

@zandl: I thought that as well, but that means the lowest original entry would be $2.25, which is still unreasonable. Unless someone really slipped up.

Unless they have a number pad with "00" on in and they hit that after messing up $0.25 in the first place...

Maybe it's one of the old Guru promo lands, and the seller doesn't have it marked correctly as such?

Like what Rhadamanthus said it's very likely these awesome old Guru promo lands, gorgeous as hell, but so pricey too...I'll snag some up soon though hahah :p

Even If it is a Guru land it is about double what the price should be. I find the entered the wrong number hypothesis more likely. Or they may not know that old lands are basically worthless and just be trying to make a quick buck since that is the only old plains they have. Another hypothesis is that it is a drug dealer and "plains" is his code for crack since they only have the one plains at all, not even any Theros plains. You never know.

Yeah, it's probably crack
