Beckett's Market place help/warning

Hi there, I am a noob and not sure how and where to start so here a try:
After 2 months of struggling with Beckett Marketplace I thought it is time to ask for advice or at least post this as a warning to potential customers. It would be great if Beckett could comment on this publicly but hope is but a fading dream.
Brief summary:I have ordered some booster boxes online. The order was processed, my credit card charged. I received a confirmation and a day later an order approval email from Beckett was received.
However, a few days later, this order was cancelled. I did get a refund on my purchase.
The reason seems to be that the price was too low (incorrect?).Clearly, I would like the booster boxes purchased but I am failing to get a clear resolution to this.
Longer Explanation:
When I enquired as to why this happened, it became interesting. I received two separate emails. The first one from the vendor who said that the price was too low (wrong price?). When I objected to the practise of cancelling an order because the price is not convenient anymore, I received another email from Beckett to say that the item was out of stock. The points of contention: Irrespective of legal issues, I do object to a practise where prices are inconvenient be it by accident or deliberately as a bait and switch. If this was a genuine mistake, then there are two further issues: A vendor must be insured for such lapses, have safeguards in place, price-in their own incapability into the business model or, at least, has to offer compensation. Second issues it that Becketts order approval is clearly an automated email that has no bearing on your transactions and I question the deceit.
Furthermore, the statement from Beckett that the item is out of stock clearly would have been something I had to accept but still question their prowess as a company if they advertise goods they, or their vendors, do not actually have in stock. But with the assertion of the vendor that he has the stock but is not willing to sell it for the price agreed over the online platform, this is on the nose or, at worst, an action close to trying and obscure a potential legal issue of engaging in a transaction and withdrawing due to the price being inconvenient!I have been in contact with Becketts customer service for circa two months now to no avail. The customer service people are, albeit very friendly, not forthcoming with a solution. I wont bore you with the usual, we will call you but dont, no response to emails, no suggested solutions, no details of supervisors, etc. It is the usual underfunded, uncaring corporate issue that many modern organisations are forced to lower their standards to. However, it made me giggle when, after two months, Jason (details below) suggested I leave feedback on their automated system.
Again, all friendly people but ineffective as customer service representatives:
(all these are publicly available):
Vendor was
- Chris Hoffield ([email protected]) from the company SportsCards Etc.
Customer Service:
Jason K
Devjeet Sharma (DJ)
but, alas, all with an anonymous email address that rarely warrants a reply (other than being automatically sign up to some newsletter, lol!): [email protected]
- Order number was: 2927517
I dont think it is useful to count how many emails and phone calls have been evoked to solve this situation but a glance at my email suggests more than 20.
Can anyone advise who had similar situation or dealings with this company? To be clear: I dont think the cancellation and non-supply is correct business behaviour. I dont know the legalities but no one is going to sue big companies these days so it is irrelevant. I can see many possible compromises but neither explanation not mitigation was offered.
Thanks for reading all the way to the end,
Ernst

There's no way they're selling a box of zendikar for 150. They're like 500

shadow63: mate, this was just an example. My case is different but the point remains: Do I just have to take it on the chin that they refuse the prices they process? I certainly don't think others should be using this site - it is deceptive!

shadow63: But yes, this shows that that Beckett's seem to be out of their depth or support this kind of deceit.

If you got your money back I'd just spend it elsewhere. How much where you paying for what product. The site doesn't look legit I should wouldn't buy anything from them.
shadow63 says... #2
I can't find a Beckett website that sells mtg cards. It sounds like it might be a scam
