Hello,
In case Birthing Pod gets banned in Modern, do you guys think that Noble Hierarch might have a price drop?
And even if it did somehow, NH wouldn't take much of a hit. It's used in lots of decks in both Modern and Legacy.

Next time you start a theoretical thread, you should probably be more careful about the title. People reading the home page are likely to think Birthing Pod actually got banned.

Something like "Noble Hierarch price stability" might be more appropriate, because it seems like that's more what you're asking. The Pod theory is pretty unlikely.
But yea as I said, she's used in Infect (the one actually fearing the banhammer), Hatebears, Bant Midrange variants, certain ramp decks, Maverick, etc.

Won't get banned. Either way, I don't see how it would effect her majesty.

Thanks for the tips, will be more careful in the future. Anyway it was a rather useless thread. Is there anyway I can delete it?

BUT, before I, or someone else, delete it, I think yes, pod is a potencial banning because it prevents anyone from playing midrange decks (besides Jund). All other midrange decks fall short before pod.I think the thing here is not warping or not the format, but deck diversity.

Dude, there are so many answers to Melira Pod it's silly. The first is Torpor Orb . Birthing Pod won't get banned. It's like saying Force of Will isn't fair in Legacy...

Well maybe deleting this is not an option anymore, maybe an admin person can move it to the proper forum instead.
Yeah, as for responses to Birthing Pod you also have Suppression Field , Stony Silence , Aven Mindcensor etc, etc. But even with all these, pod keeps appearing on daily events results as 3-1 and 4-0. I know that it's seems silly at first, but you can hardly play creature based decks against pod, and I think that's the reason behind the potencial banning. See, I'm not saying it is a broken unbeatable card, the fact is that without it more decks will become viable in Modern.I am not defending its banning as well, but I think that's the mindset about Birthing Pod that Wotc has right now.

its because of Wild Nacatl being unbanned, I believe.

Also, it replaces Deathrite Shaman in a lot of decks, specifically Birthing Pod .

Ah okay. Interesting. Overall, this has been a fantastic week in modern. (in my opinion)

also Dark Depths jumped as well... hot damn people who had those in their binders are sitting happy.

Birthing Pod is in no way a broken card. One of the most recent re-iterations of shut-downs for this card is Pithing Needle . Birthing Pod can be stopped in so many ways, it's lost its silliness. If any card that supports the pod were to be banned, it would be Melira, Sylvok Outcast or anything with persist. If anything is broken, it's not Pod.
Then again, it is highly unlikely that Melira herself would be banned, as Melira Pod is an easy sideboard match, IMO.

birthing pod won't get banned, the cards have to be format-warping to be banned.
