Black Lotus is currently over $200,000 dollars. I found this on my lgs's website.

My lgs would be selling an Alpha Edition, if it had any in stock.

Fairly recently a graded 9.5 Alpha Black Lotus sold for some $166,000. That's a bit of an outlier--9.5 is an extremely high grading. It's hard to get an estimate on what an "average" condition would go for given how rare it is for one of these to be sold publicly (and given the current economic crisis), but it certainty wouldn't be $200,000.

The $200,000 your LGS has listed is just a placeholder. If they actually had one, the listed price would be determined by the particular copy they had in their possession, and could vary widely depending on various factors.

Oh, and the ability to post links/imaged needs to be manually enabled on an account-by-account basis. I have gone ahead and done so for you.

TypicalTimmy, I found articles from 2018 discussing a high-graded Alpha lotus selling for ~87k, and they were already over 40,000 when I returned to Magic in 2014. So, either your “or so” encompasses a really long time period, or it’s possible you’re thinking of low-graded cards or cards from another printing.

Anything they're listing at 200k they're probably willing to haggle a bit on the price
