While trading the other day, I was surprised to find that TCGplayer was listing Boros Reckoner at nearly $18 average price. I was trying to get my hands on a Jace, Architect of Thought , and my trade partner refused to trade for Reckoners at that price. I offered to count them at $17 for no result. What do you guys think, hang onto them or dump?
I'm not a serious MTG economics guy, but I do need to convert my cards into some stuff for my new B/U deck, so I'd love your input! Thanks!
Yeah, that's the issue I kept running into, and the explanation makes sense. It's such a solid card, that anyone who wants to, and can afford to run them pretty much already is. I'll try that next time I find someone with an Ashiok or Jace, AoT, as I still need a couple of them to replace some basic lands scribbled on with a Sharpie.

A while back I traded my Mutavault and a $5 for 2 reckoners. Had I done it a week before, the Mutavault would have been enough. Glad I did it then!

reckoners are likely to go up IMO, not down.theyre way better now in the current meta than they were for months before the rotation.

Right now aggro decks are good which means reckoner is good in them and against them, it's powerful with domri and nearly always 2 for ones. Reckoner could go up to nearly his high price of nearly $30 for a little while, but he'll likely be sitting at around 13-16 for most of his remaining stay in standard.
If you really want to move them I'd suggest valuing them at $15, reckoners can be really hard to move above that as most people who want them now were ones who waited too long to get them cheap and everyone else are either newer to mtg (and even $10+ price tags seem intimidating to trade for) or they already own their set or are similarly not interested.
