BotG Mythics to Preorder? Which ones are likely to jump?

I'm starting to think about which mythics (if any) within BotG that are likely to jump in price after the set is released (and therefore are worth preordering). With Theros I preordered through eBay a playset of Elspeth, Purphoros, and Thassa, which really paid off. This was the first time I did this, usually I get a box or three and then fill in the gaps. But, with Theros getting those valuable playsets early really gave me some trading power after it had been out and the price jumped, as I knew exactly what I needed to fill and had cards in hand to trade.
To be honest, I haven't been as impressed with BotG. Brimaz, King of Oreskos is the most "wow" mythic card I've seen. But some of the Gods are nice (but are they rush out and preorder nice?). Personally, I like Ephara, God of the Polis , Phenax, God of Deception , and Xenagos, God of Revels . I'm not so hot on Kiora (as she's already ~$20 and I would put her at 1/2 of that) and Mogis is decent, but... ?
What am I not seeing? Thoughts? Please speculate, so I can... speculate on speculating!

Unless he wins a large tournament immediately, I can't see Brimaz, King of Oreskos being any more than half of what his preorder is. Same with Pain Seer and Kiora, the Crashing Wave . Other than that, no clue. None of the Gods really look so impressive that they immeditately jump out at me saying, "Look, I'm going to be good!"

The only ones I personally see going up in price possibly are Mogis, God of Slaughter and Brimaz, King of Oreskos .

Xenagos, God of Revels will see play in G/R Monsters for sure.
The pheonix on the other hand is grappling it's spot with poulukranos. So it might not.

Please tell me that someone else sees the power of Spirit of the Labyrinth . This has great synergy with things like Steam Augury and Jace, Architect of Thought . legacy, modern, standard, this guy is going to be everywhere

I don't see what everyone is seeing in mogis. It's like a weakened Obzedat, Ghost Council in different colours. They choose whether to take 2 or sac a creature, so mostly they'll just take 2, but if they have a useless creature they can save themselves damage by sacking that. Ghost daddy makes them lose life and gives you life every turn, is always a creature, albeit with 2 less power, and he also has evasion from sorceries. Brimaz, King of Oreskos , on the other hand looks insane, and so does Kiora, the Crashing Wave . Kiora reminds me a lot of Jace, Architect of Thought . +1: protect her/himself -1/-2: Get card advantage -5/-8: probably win the game. It seems like a good simic/bant deck maybe with Prophet of Kruphix could emerge with kiora and jace.

i think mogis is a card that works best if built around. If you're already keeping the board clear, the opponent will eat a lot of damage, putting them in range of a rakdos return or a hit with desecration demon. Not sure how strong it will be but Obzedat is more mana intensive and easier to remove than Mogis, so there is that to consider.

Brimaz, King of Oreskos and Spirit of the Labyrinth seem like the two best cards in the set to me. I think they'll spike at some point.
Otherwise, if you feel like gambling big, Phenax, God of Deception might be worth a bit of risk. There's a small chance he can make mill of some sort into a thing, and if he does, he'll skyrocket. If he doesn't, well, he'll probably still be worth a $4+ dollars for a fair while.

true, but obzedat is more easily splashable into any deck and doesn't require you to build around it. Also, stuff like Detention Sphere hits mogis but not daddy. There's also a new Naturalize that shuffles it into the library at sorcery speed (still 2 mana) that i think will see lots of sideboard play to kill gods.

@ KingSorin: Actually Unravel the Aether is an instant.

i feel like everything is going to go down in price, thats what usually happens.

Brimaz, King of Oreskos
and Spirit of the Labyrinth
seem like the ones that will retain the most value, Death and Taxes is a thing, and spirit off aethervial for 2 makes brainstorm a shit sandwich. Brimaz being 3MC is huge imo, plus the tokens have vigilance as well.
Kiora I think will drop prolly towards the $15 mark unless winning a tournament, even then I cant see here being a $35/$40 card, but her foil Im sure will be crazy for EDH.
Also Malanade1 Spirit doesn't stop Steam Augury
or Jace, since the cards aren't drawn, they are put into your hand.

I think that's what Malanade1 meant mckin. That if you were the one playing her you could get around it and use those types of cards yourselves.

These are some of the most overpriced preorders I've ever seen. Totally not worth it. Brimaz, King of Oreskos is a card I want, but no way am I paying $20-$30 for a preorder.

Courser of Kruphix will see play. Arguably best green card in the set

Courser of Kruphix is my long awaited replacement to Centaur Healer in my aggro heavy meta. This makes me uncontrollably happy.
January 24, 2014 2:48 p.m.
Courser of Kruphix is pretty boss, as is Spirit of the Labyrinth (and a few others) -but I wouldn't preorder rares (well... maybe... convince me). I did that with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and while I didn't get burned, I certainly didn't gain value. I think with rares there are enough that supply will meet demand in a way that prevents any significant upswing between the pre-release and after the cards are available. i.e. when it comes to preordering cards, unless you plan to stuff them into a deck that you'll play the day their standard legal, it's not worth it (I guess there are rare exceptions like Hero's Downfall , but that's more of a sleeper becoming a widely played). Mythics on the other hand can rapidly gain value after the set drops.
I think the question is whether Brimaz, King of Oreskos is the next Voice of Resurgence , in the sense that it will be ~$20 preorder but then shoot to $30-$40. Archangel of Thune did this, even though now it's dropped a lot (perhaps a better comparison to Brimaz, King of Oreskos then Voice of Resurgence )
So, of the Mythics (or rares at <$5), where are the deals to steal?

Xenagos will go up, might not stay that way, but it's preorder price has been steadily increasing.

To be honest if I open any mythic at the prerelease I'm going to flip. I'm crossing my fingers for the impossible of the impossible and opening a foil Kiora. Next to Karn Liberated , she's my fav walker.

Flame-Wreathed Phoenix seems like it's going to spike depending on the play.
