Buying Custom Booster boxes?

So I've been toying with the idea of buying a booster box of Magic to supplement my collection, but I don't really want 36 boosters from a single set. So I'm wondering if anyone semi reputable has custom booster boxes with a variety of packs from different sets or something similar that anyone would recommend.
Good idea, Bad idea, better alternate idea I haven't thought of?

Moved.
As a general rule, it's more dangerous to buy packs individually. Before the recent change in packaging patterns, it was possible to "map" boxes and estimate where the value cards were. Stores opened those packs and sold the ones that were left over.
Of course, I don't know the actual data on box mapping. Maybe the risk is minute.

ThatJunkMage I had wanted to buy a box because the amount of boosters for cost, 36 for about $90 is cheap enough that I consider. buying 36 individual packs that at are at cheapest $3... is way more then what I want to put in. I specified custom booster box because bulk is almost always cheaper. I didn't expect to buy something that had a mix of random boosters to be cheaper then a box of like Dragons of Tarkir, but cheaper still then buying each of those packs individually.
Epochalyptik I've heard about that. When did the packaging patterns change, and would buying a box of mixed boosters be worth it or is the risk for getting bad packs actually high enough that its not?
Also, are Ebay collections really good? Wouldn't any good cards have been culled out? I'm not expecting money cards and that's not really why I'm wanting to do this anyways, but at least with a booster box you're guaranteed that many rares and the chance for several mythics is good.

Some EBay collections are very good. There should be a list included in the description that shows the money cards. It's going to be more expensive than what you're wanting to pay, but you know what you're getting like this one. I'm just kidding about that one, but you're welcome to go for it.
There are also repacks on EBay. I don't know much about them and have yet to do one myself, but I've read of some people having good luck with those.
Really the best way to build up your collection is just going to drafts and pre-releases. Your collection will grow a lot faster than you think by doing those.

NoPantsParade thanks for the advice, and while I'll have to give the 50k lot some thought, and will look into some other repacks.

Buy 36 packs from a big dealer like Star City Games (mtg card market in Europe). We can give suggestions on like, what packs to get, but i'd only advise buying from some big name internet dealer.
Also, doing this is going to cost a lot more than they typical $100.
I'd say go for a collection off of Ebay if you just want a bigger collection.
