More specifically, can someone explain this particular situation. I was recently considering building a modern constellation deck and was trying to decide between Leyline of Sanctity and Aegis of the Gods and the thing that got me was The former is a $20.00 and the later is $0.20 a pop. Why is there such a massive difference between these two card prices????

Leyline can be much cheaper and drop down way earlier than Aegis. It's also much harder to remove.

Example: Play Leyline out immediately in your oppening hand, and burn spells can no longer touch you. They also have very little that can get rid of the Leyline. Play Aegis turn 2, and that thing is guaranteed to run into a Lightning Bolt or another burn spell, after which they will continue to burn you.

Leyline was also printed longer ago so it is harder to find, and there are fewer copies of it in existence. (Assuming more people opened Journey to Nyx than M11)
