Card Thickness and Company Issues

Can anyone else confirm that the M15 and KTK cards are thicker than any of the other cards? I noticed this from just getting some cards I preordered today, and could tell right away. I was immediately worried that they were fakes, but the same characteristic appeared in multiple orders.

On another matter, I suggest people to be wary of Webhead Collectibles. The cards are definitely not the quality they listed them as. I bought NM and these are lightly played, the back corners of the Temple of Silence are clearly worn to an extent that fits this category. They even went as far as to put the card at the back of the pile, facing outwards so you couldn't see the scuffed back until you opened the package. As for the Goblin Rabblemaster , the card is line dented in three different places. Then there is the time issue. It took two weeks for just a couple of cards, but that is probably because I'm on the east coast and they are on the west coast. Once again, informing people to be wary if they ever purchase from them.

I haven't noticed the card thickness; I should probably start trying to look for differences tomorrow morning.

I'm assuming the store you bought from is found on TCGPlayer? Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah I sorta noticed too. They seem thicker for sure, not a lot, but noticeably so.

There is nothing worse than cards you wanted in NM arriving in played condition. It's completely outrageous and I cannot stand it. Thanks for the heads-up, dude, and sorry that your cards didn't arrive as advertised. That's just crummy.

I'm definitely with you on the fact that M15/KTK cards feel different. I thought at first it was because they are new to my collection but I bought a pack of ISD the other day and they felt normal.

I just took a stack of 100 KTK/M15 C/U cards and compared them to a stack of 100 older C/U cards. I compressed both stacks with moderate force so that any warping from age was irrelevant. The piles were close in size, but the old pile was about 1/2 a card thicker than the new one.

I do however agree that the new ones feel sturdier in some way, so I decided to rip an Innistrad Basic land and an M15 basic land to see if there is a difference in the layering composition. It appears that the white layers are a bit thinner on the new cards compared to the blue layer. I think this change is what is making the card feel different. It shouldn't matter in sleeved decks though since the sleeves should add enough sturdiness that the inherent difference should be under the difference threshold.

If this is tcgplayer, the time issue may be them waiting for tcg to actually pay them. The schedule is weird and I forget it completely (the days payments go out). But tcg doesn't even put them in for payment till the card is marked ship and then they have to wait a couple weeks. I've had worse, where sellers didn't ship at all or mark ship, because it hadn't been marked paid in their system... After contacting them and then tcg did I get it resolved, so they could understand tcg's payment system...

Also, you could contact tcg customer service and explain the condition and the issues after contacting the seller, and see if they have a solution (I have never bothered with this so I can't speak on how it will turn out).

I would also negatively rate them, again after contacting the seller.

Also, I think this is why I prefer tcg direct, given it is a bit extra, I like it for the quality assurance.

I use SCG or abugames.com for most of my singles purchases. It's definitely more expensive, but 95% of the time the cards arrive promptly and in the condition I asked for. I use trusted sellers on Amazon when I can't find the single I want from either of my usual vendors. If a card is in poor shape, I send them back every time for either a refund or replacement. SCG makes one jump through a few hoops to get this done, but it's worth it. I won't play cards in less than NM/M.

I won't be wasting my time putting comments around or contacting the company. I'm not very bothered by lightly played condition. Most of my cards are lightly played or moderately played thanks to them being from olden times. I'm just letting others know who can't stand this sort of thing to be wary of them.
