Have you seen these yet? It appears that they will be released online soon after the San Diego Comic Con. $111 is the price that I saw. Good investment? How limited is limited?

Well apparently I have no idea how to link something properly. Sorry about that.

Buy them ASAP. Just look at the ones from last year. They're 200 a pop

Anyways, they seem pretty neat to me, minus the unnecessary Nerf axe. $111 seems great to me, as Chandra alone from last year is going for $230+... so yeah. If you're there, I would say go for it. If you're concerned about the investment, just keeping the package sealed will pretty much ensure that you'll at the very least recoup what you initially put i; but it seems to me to be much more likely it rises in price.

Haha, I wish I was there or even knew someone who was going. How limited do you think they will be online after the convention? Will they sellout almost instantly?

Hmm, I don't think you'll be finding them under $250 very easily online after the convention, and after a few short weeks they'll be going for full value online, similar to last time. I seem to remember seeing several for just over $200 last year for a week or two, now you can only find em for $600+. Might be different this time though, they might immediately skyrocket since everyone knows their value now.

From what I was reading in the article that I tried to link is that Hasbro/Wizards is going to sell a limited amount of them on their own site. That was what I was referring to. Thanks for the working link CrazyLittleGuy, I appreciate it.

No problem. I must have missed that part, I was too busy drooling over the card art I guess. That makes the availability of them a bit more questionable. Still seems like a good deal, but I'm going to keep asking that question "how limited is limited"

Last time they were available online. I almost picked up a set. They sold out within I think 10 minutes.

You find them on ebay.com at 500$ already. If you have the chance, buy one while you can. Sadly Wizards shows again how little they care about the EU (even though a very large player field comes from there). The hasbrotoyshop.com only delivers to the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. That alone and the fact, that this set is only available at SDCC shows that EU-Magic players are 2nd class.

There is a major convention in Cologne every year (GamesCom in August, only a few weeks after SDCC) where Wizards could promote their "Duel of the Planeswalkers"-Game and offer the SDCC special promos. It wouldn't hurt and they'd show some interest in the market in the EU. But who has interest in a 2nd-class community :)

It's not just european players that get the stick, it's pretty much anyone who isn't at the convention or available for those 30 seconds to purchase it online. I absolutely hate this product, because it's pretty much a giant Fuck You to every single magic player that doesn't live in / around San Diego. These things need to not be kept at such a high premium if they're going to exist.

Agree, Blue. Really grinds my gears.

its not even just those who live around san diego. I live on camp Pendleton about 30 minutes north of SD. the problem is that tickets sell out so fast and are really expensive. but the cards are collectors items. they are suppose to be extremely limited and hard to get a hold of. I do think that wizards needs to open up the market a bit, especially over seas.

That axe would look great in any bachelor pad. There's no shame. Just remember to put it away when the ladies come around.
