Was thinking about buying Crucible of Worlds a few weeks ago when it was $45, but thought it was too expensive...Now it's almost $75. Do you guys think the price could drop a bit, or is it going to keep going up and I should just buy one now?
Everyone buying land destruction stuff to fight / tron & eldrazi builds. So tron and eldrazi players are buying Crucible of Worlds up in response

I highly doubt that's why. That's a bit ridiculous to think Tron and eldrazi players are buying it to hate out the format. It's more likely Pox decks or something.

It's tron players. There's more of them now. They're multiplying...
And there's like 1000 copies of crucible ever printed ever.

So speaking just from an extremely loose knowledge of Magic history, There were like 15 packs of Fifth dawn opened up because at that point people were like "Nah, affinity is too much bro. I'm out" (This was soon followed by the mass exodus of people leaving due to kamigawa, after which all 57 remaining magic players told wizards to "Maybe try harder next time"). Then it was reprinted in Tenth, and there were quite a few players at that point, maybe 800 or so, so there's bound to have been a couple ripped there. It was also printed as a judge foil, so that's an additional 13 copies that I forgot about.
But yeah, it's nowhere near as well stocked as say, Bob Confidant, so even with a bunch of people running it as 1 or 2 ofs, the price is going bananas. EDH also might be getting more popular. Who knows.

DevoidMage, please, for the love of everything, tell us more of the history of Magic.

75?! wow... It was the first 'really' expensive card I bought (normally I trade for cards, and since I play casually and on a budget, I tend to avoid overly expensive cards). I bought mine for 15$, and I remember having a discussion with the salesman (he had offered it for 12,50 or something but when I wanted to buy it he said the price was wrong and it was 15 instead.) So it seems like a good investment, though I would be surprised if it would get even more expensive.

+1 on ItchiUchiha117's comment!
Seriously DevoidMage, if you've got more of that, you should do an article series or something. Hilarious!!!

I'm so sad :( Really wish I picked one up a few weeks ago. How long will it be this pricey? If it's staying this high I might just use Life from the Loam instead.

Wifidaniel It won't go any lower until it's reprinted. Earliest would be the next Modern Masters, potentially Commander 16. Life from the Loam is getting expensive too, sitting at $9.
