So I am looking into getting a custom playmat done since the art I want isn't readily available. From what I have seen, it will be around $35. Other than that, I have no idea how to go about this.
I am looking for information from people who have gotten playmats done before. If anyone does them, let me know!
The art I want is from Dictate of Erebos , not all that good of a card, awesome art, especially for when I play my Mono-Black Waste Not deck in M15.

TolarianCommunityCollege has a YouTube channel that covers a variety of MTG topics, including accessories. Believe he's got a playmat vid.

With Inked Playmats their agreement says that they assume that you have rights to your image so they'll just print what ever you want and cover their own asses with their user agreement

Can I just send them an image and have them size it and print it for me for the $35 price tag?

Getting permission isn't easy either; I've contacted Wizards (if you do some snooping in their site, they have a section where you can ask for permission for personal use of their art) over a month ago and still haven't received any response.

Inked playmats allows you to pay an extra $10 for them to edit the image for you. They also give a tutorial on how to do it yourself using Photoshop

Yeah, I just paid the extra $10 so I wouldn't have to bother with photoshop. I'm definitely happy with what I got from inked playmats. The quality was a lot better than I expected it to be. The playmat is a lot nicer than any playmats given out from WOTC

I've used inkedPlaymats in the past, and I highly recommend them. The ink set in really well and it was exactly what I ordered.
On their website is a Photoshop template you can download for use in any image editor that reads .psd's. Find a large high quality image and size it to the templates guides. There are instructions how to better understand the guides on the site.
Then you can pay for the playmat as is with that image or you can pay extra for sizing and color fixing I believe.

InkedPlaymats is widely regarded as the best custom shop for playmats. I don't know what their copyright policies are, though, so you should ask prior to sending them an image from a card.
