Cuz we don't have enough threads about fetches yet

So I was idly surfing tcgplayer, as I tend to do when I get bored, and I noticed that almost all of the khans fetches are under ten dollars or close to.

Everyone I know is saying "oh they're going to go back up again and you'll make double the value in a few years", but is this really true? Will these fetches ever get back into the 30-40 dollar range? It seems to me they've lost some of their value to me as cool cards I want to have, because now everyone has a few, and they're so cheap. Or maybe I'm just crazy, who knows.

They will rise again, the demand for these lands and shocks will always be there as long as magic exist or as long as they don't somehow get outclassed by some other powerful land which I doubt that will ever happen. :3

Khans has been opened up so much that there's no way that these things will be back to $40 in the next 5 years, or potentially ever. If the Zendikar fetches get the reprint as well, you can expect your typical fetch price to be $10 until the next big land comes to take its place. I don't see them (without a ZEN reprint) going up anything past $20 in the next 5 years regardless just because of how available they are now.

ThatBlueMage sure, unless somehow the game gains even more popularity and the demand grows more than you expect. History sides on them going up regardless. :)

Have you played with them in any format except standard? If you answered yes, you should understand how irreplaceable these are, and from that we can conclude that the demand for them will only go up as they get pulled from printing.

Kahns is a VERY highly opened set, in fact more players started playing than ever before since RTR, and tons of people have come back to the game after hiatus. The set, arguably, is opened so much because of fetches being in print for the first time in years, and now the quantity of these cards in the hands of players obviously increased drastically: lowering the price. But once these are out of print, they will rise. It's inevitable. If you want to wait on buying/trading for them you will be disappointed.

So have I, so I'm banking on these skyrocketing in a few years. Trust me, they'll be cool again. I mean consider this, they're modern legal, with the newest borders, and with sick dragonbone artwork. How can they not be cool again?

I'm not doubting that they will go up again, I mean, there's still very few people that play this game (as opposed to, say, call of duty or whatever FPS the kids are playing these days), and with more players, there's obviously going to be a higher demand for these sorts of cards, but I'm just pointing out that khans is so extremely heavily opened that it will take a long ass time for them to get to any point that an investor will see any real return on a large horde.

I could see Polluted Delta and Flooded Strand getting back up there, but not the rest. Again though, this is far away from happening. Probably wont happen till around 4 years after it rotates out of print.

lol get them now if u don't have them. ...remember Steam Vents dipped to like 6.25 at one point. Right now is the best time of year to purchase anything used in modern. Pretty soon things will go back up... look at Thoughtseize it dipped from 60+ to like 11.25 and now is climbing already, come a year after rotation (bar another reprint) it'll easily be at 30+.

So not to hijack (we do have enough fetch threads lol) but I have an offer for 1 of each foil ktk fetch except flooded Strand. He wants 2x mire, 1x strand, 5x delta, 4x heath and 4x foothills for the four foils. Current value is the same but I'm curious, will the multiple regular fetches net more value over time or the 4 foil fetches? I do have 1 of each foil already and multiple play sets of each regular fetch so I'm kind of stuck on what to do.

Is this the same guy as before? Because if not, then no. If you have a playset already I don't think getting more of them is necessary, if what people are saying is true, you'll gain plenty of money off the ones you have already.

I'd keep the non-foil fetches.

No, it's a different guy. I did get the two Scrublands in the mail today though so he made good on his end. I meant I have playsets of regular fetches, just 1 of each in foil but I was kind of expecting to hear hold onto the regular ones, seems most good mtg "investors" say to spread the value out so if a card takes a hit you won't lose as much but on the flip side you may not gain as much either. I found out the guy is located in Mexico so I'm not too sure I want to ship there anyway.

I think you should just keep the cards you have, if you already have a foil of each one, there's no point in trading for more, unless you're really into foils or something.

I admit I'm a foil geek. I've torn apart so many decks just to get a foil I want that I barely get to play. At this point I don't care if I get more foil fetches from ktk or not, I just want whichever will be worth more in the end and keeping the 16 fetches rather than 4 foils sounds like it's the way to go. Thanks guys (sorry OP :D )

I'm not a fan of foils for anything outside of EDH. I'm all for alters/extended art and foreigns, so I'm not going to be trading away my non-foils.
