Hey,with the increase of power of Burn and Affinity, and the decrease of decks using Dark Confidant. His price has been dropping. How much more do you think his price will drop?
I don't think junk and jund are using him as much, because of Tasigur, the Golden Fang. He's currently 55$. Do you reckon he'll only go down to about 50$?

Noble Hierarch is at $35 and sees 10% play in modern and 3% play in legacy. Dark Confidant is at $40 and sees 5% play in legacy and it couldn't find him on the charts for modern. Considering EDH and casual Dark Confidant is unplayable and Noble Hierarch is used (I don't have exact figures). I would be surprised if he doesn't drop to between $25 and $30.

No he's coming back. Literally the last few weeks he's made a big resurgence in showing. Won't show much on mtgtop8 or mtggoldfish etc you need to follow modern very carefully to have realised. It has only been a very short period in which he has come back.
Also: the above comparison is a rare to a mythic which is absolutely ridiculous.

I'd assume he'll settle between $50 and $60. He sees some Legacy play, but people are slowly shifting back to Jund in Modern.

I never said that it was. I was just letting the person above who was hoping he would drop to about 40 know that he is available for that price.

currently bob is 38 and we havent even seen the 100k packs due to be opened at GPs hit the market yet. if you are savvy i would fully expect to snag a few around ~30 before he stabalizes

Dark confidant is better in legacy where your life isn't as heavily strained by your mana base.
Quite honestly, I see confidant as a weaker tasigur that is situationally better. Sure, he can be a power house, but that doesn't make up for the fact that he is sort of a crapshoot.
In any case, it's hard to tell whether he is actually better in the metagame or not based on what's being played. Jund and junk are already amazing decks, it's not surprising that they managed to win tournaments despite having a marginally worse card. I mean, the 1996 world champion had 2 dead cards in his deck because he forgot to put in Adikar wastes in his land base and still won.

Regardless of whether you can or cannot get DC for $5 or $30 or $1000, I think the point of the discussion is to focus on his AVERAGE price as a rough guide of where he is overall.

I think he'll drop down to $40USD. While he sees little legacy play and the modern play is fringe (though rising) he is still bob. That alone merits quite a bit.

Yeah, but for me he's a creature that's not really worth 40$. Just my opinion.

He's coming up again in Jund and Abzan. It's hard to say how low he'll fall but around $50 seems fair. He is a fantastic card that does see some play, and in decks that want him he's a 4-of.
