Dark tutelage question

I understand that Dark Confidant is better than Dark Tutelage, but why is it 50 dollars more? Can one mana really set a card that far apart?

The difference between CMC 2 and CMC 3 is HUGE for eternal formats. Plus Bob can swing for damage. Also, I'm willing to be there are many more printings of Dark Tutelage available than there are of Bob.

I believe it has more to do with the fact that Dark Confidant is also a creature in addition to the lower cmc. He can attack through an empty field, he can block something about to beat your face in, and creatures are inherently easier to deal with in decks than enchantments, should you be dangerously low in life.

Also Phyrexian Arena is almost always superior to Dark Tutelage, so that's also why it is so cheap.

Dark Confidant is going to draw you an extra card by turn 3. Dark Tutelage only by turn 4. Dark Confidant offsets the lifeloss by always being able to swing for 2. He's also to get rid of if you kind of don't want to lose any more life (chump block).

Phyrexian Arena stands in the middle of the two cards because it is also slow and not a creature but you lose far less life off it.

Sign in Blood is a good option too. The only trouble is that often Sign in Blood will leave you wishing you had a more permanent form of draw.

Dark Confidant + Liliana of the Veil is where it's at.
