There is that All in Red deck in legacy that can afford this dude. They usually play infernal titan and stuff, but this seems a lot better at making you not die

lemmingllama says... #2

Maybe some people are playing No Banlist Modern and are enjoying the fun of Hypergenesis? That's the only deck I can think of that run him.

March 28, 2016 8:50 a.m.

addaff says... #3

With the Urabrask the Hidden, it could be brought out turn 3 with the new red vessel enchantment.

March 28, 2016 10:01 a.m.

Huh. I didn't think about that. That's pretty cool, addaff. Makes me want to brew him for EDH. He's my favorite of the Praetors anyways. Lol

March 28, 2016 12:39 p.m.

Kalastria Highborn is up to $5+. Probably because of Innistrad Vamps coming around.

What are everyone's thoughts on how the new Avacyn's price will change (ie when is the right time to buy one)?

March 28, 2016 8:31 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #7

When she rotates out.

OR

A few weeks before Eldritch Moon.

March 28, 2016 9:35 p.m.

When people realize that she's not as good as she seems.

March 28, 2016 9:37 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #9

I think she is bonkers for Junk and maybe Mardu midrange. Like, as a 1 or 2 of. Keep in mind that that won't affect her price all that much, and SOI will be heavily opened and there will not be anything over $10 in the long run. Her stats of being 5 mana and legendary makes her not appear in a lot of decks nor in high numbers.

Daedalus19876 says... #10

FAMOUSWATERMELON: That's my perspective as well, but I'm afraid I'll be wrong and she'll go UP instead...

You see, I need one for my new EDH deck (Judgment Day: Avacyn the Purifier EDH), so I'm more talking about when she's cheapest in the next few weeks. Thoughts on the short-term?

March 28, 2016 9:42 p.m.

I'm not sure how I feel about Nahiri, the Harbinger's chances. It seems like a solid enough card, but I'm not sure if it will find a home in Standard (or anywhere else besides EDH, for that matter). I don't want to preorder it now and have it be half the price it is now a month down the line, and then I'll be sad because I could've waited and got myself like a The Gitrog Monster or something with that money.

I overthink things sometimes. Lol

March 29, 2016 10:15 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #12

Nahiri will go down. She's only good for enabling madness. I don't think there will be a white madness interaction. Her Ult is really lame too, as it requires you to build around it, and if you draw her ult target, it does nothing.

March 29, 2016 1:27 p.m.

Daedalus19876 says... #13

Nahiri also has very little coherency between her abilities - I just don't like her design overall, and there aren't many good targets for her ultimate in limited. I think she'll be like the new Tibalt, and thus have a very low price.

Brindle Shoat went from 30c to ~$4.50 a few days ago.

Squandered Resources went up by 445.1%

Pendrell Mists increased by 176.3%

March 31, 2016 6:58 a.m.

Ruffigan says... #16

Squandered Resources went up due to the Gitrog Monster hype. Not sure about Pendrell Mists.

March 31, 2016 8:06 a.m.

sirbar says... #17

MythicMtgTech just suggested getting Pendrell Mists for commander as a replacement for tabernacle. Also it's on the reserve list.

Check out that Westvale Abbey  Flip! I sure hope the one I pre-ordered for 3$ doesn't get "Sorry we ran out of stock"ed LoL As you scroll over the card it still says 4.65, but it's currently going for about 20$

April 1, 2016 12:16 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #19

Westvale Abbey will drop. It'll be $10 at the most.

April 1, 2016 12:26 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #20

What the hell happened to Creeping Tar Pit? Wasn't that card under ten not long ago?

April 2, 2016 5:12 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #21

Tar Pit has been at least $20 since last June.

April 2, 2016 5:30 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #22

Well i live under a rock then. Carry on.

April 2, 2016 5:39 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #23

Tar Pit has been $20 since last year at least.

April 2, 2016 9:17 p.m.

Phaetion says... #24

Well, someone rocked your world then, VampireArmy.

In other news, Archangel of Tithes has hit the $12 mark according to MTGStocks.

April 2, 2016 9:31 p.m.

PistonGolem says... #25

I look at my copy of Archangel of Tithes that I didn't want to sell because I was used to it being 6 dollars YEEEEEEE!

April 2, 2016 9:51 p.m.

amazingdan says... #26

Holy hell guys why is Epiphany at the Drownyard foil $10? It sucks! Not that I'm complaining, I pulled it at a prerelease, but I just lumped it with the other junk until I saw it's price on another thread.

So, question is: sell now, or wait? I can't see it going up, but it's possible.

April 3, 2016 8:53 p.m.

amazingdan not sure if this is the right thread to be discussing whether you should keep or sell, but I'd definitely get rid of that.

Similarly, Cryptolith Rite foil is stupid expensive for what seems like a bad card. It was my prerelease promo.

April 3, 2016 8:55 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #28

EDH appeal is the best I can think of. All your creatures help you ramp and colour fix to whatever 6+ cmc card you have in your hand. Presumably an X spell.

April 3, 2016 9:05 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #29

ToolmasterOfBrainerd Cryptolyth is auto include in Jeskai combo and it's stupid. Like consistent T3-4 wins.

April 3, 2016 9:05 p.m. Edited.

DrFunk27 in standard, I assume? I know this isn't the right forum, but do you think it's going up or down in price?

April 3, 2016 9:24 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #31

No, in modern. It's the Turn 2 play into T3 Ascendancy.

April 3, 2016 9:35 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #32

No, in modern. T2 into T3 Adcendancy.

April 3, 2016 9:42 p.m.

brokendwarf says... #33

TCG has Ancestral Vision up to 60, Sword of the Meek up to 28, and Thopter Foundry up to 9.

April 4, 2016 1:23 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #34

For some reason, SCG has Steam Vents up to $25/$20 per edition. TCG has them at $18/$15.

April 4, 2016 1:33 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #35

It's all hype. Everything will settle down.

April 4, 2016 1:46 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #36

Ancestral Vision certainly won't settle down. It was $22 before this announcement. It's only going to get higher. The others yeah, I only see them appearing in Lantern Control.

April 4, 2016 2:17 p.m.

I traded my Ancestral Vision away over a year ago when it was $12 since I thought it would never get unbanned in Modern. Sad day for me today :(

April 4, 2016 2:21 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #38

I should clarify yeah, foundry and sword will settle. They're uncommons. Vision unfortunately will maintain a $50+ tag until it's reprinted. EMA?

April 4, 2016 2:23 p.m.

brokendwarf says... #39

I traded off my AEther Vial a couple months ago for a Time Spiral Ancestral Vision, old FNM Path to Exile, and some other good stuff.

April 4, 2016 2:41 p.m.

Dalektable says... #40

Jesus Christ, please let Sword of the Meek and Thopter Foundry stabilize back down, as well as Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas. I've been waiting for this unban since I discovered the combo, I want this deck more than anything.

April 4, 2016 3:34 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #41

Tezzeret has been $15 for years. If anything, he will go up.

April 4, 2016 3:38 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #42

And yup. Tezzeret sitting around $40. Well. That was quick. lol

April 4, 2016 4:48 p.m.

"The others yeah, I only see them appearing in Lantern Control."

Wut?

April 5, 2016 7:25 a.m.

DrFunk27 says... #44

fluffybunnypants Thopter Foundry and Sword in Lantern Control. It's a new way to apply pressure without diluting the deck. Could work.

April 5, 2016 11:33 a.m.

TMBRLZ says... #45

Everybody wants to make Tezzerator. Somebody is going to do it. And do it well for Pro Tour. They're going to place and all your dreams of stabilized prices will go out the window.

Good luck with that.

April 5, 2016 11:44 a.m.

Servo_Token says... #46

Yes, they're going to take tezzerator to the standard pro tour. You heard it here first.

April 5, 2016 11:48 a.m.

All fear the Lanterns.

@DrFunk27

It's really the "only" part that I found weird.
