What's going on with Dark Petition? From $1.38 yesterday to $6.50 (as of posting, TCG avg)... I'm not watching the PT so maybe I'm missing the obvious answer...
April 23, 2016 11:01 a.m.
It is in a combo deck with Seasons Past which has also shot up from bulk mythic to near $10 USD.
April 23, 2016 11:43 a.m.
Righto. Seems janky, I like. Glad I've got 2 Petitions just sitting around!

Did I miss the Burgeoning discussion? It happened a few days ago. Went from $10-15 to $30. Is this a buyout, or a powerful, hard-to-find card jumping to a still-reasonable price?
April 23, 2016 7:48 p.m.
ducttapedeckbox I'm almost certain it's being used in hypnotoad decks.

Hey guys... Muddle the Mixture Jumped up to six dollars at the end of April.

ToolmasterOfBrainerd says... #12
PistonGolem it was $10 for awhile. $6 is actually a drop in price.
May 1, 2016 3:27 p.m.
I got 10+ @ $1 weeks ago....I think it's time to sell/trade. lol

I have 8 I got from a bulk binder for $0.25 each. I thought they were like $2 a piece. Got a better deal than I thought lol.
May 1, 2016 8:57 p.m.
The spike is because it sees play in Tezzithopters. Sell or trade if you can, once people realise Tezzithopters aint that viable it will drop like a stone.

Training Grounds has been on the way up for a while, had a recent spike and is continuing upwards after SOI spoilers and release (due to investigate, no doubt).

Bovine073 I'm fairly certain training grounds only works on creatures so the clues wouldn't work.
May 4, 2016 7:09 a.m.
Oh whoops, nevertheless it is still spiking DrFunk27. Good insight.
May 4, 2016 8:24 a.m.
Bovine073 I wish that were true. That's insane value. lol

Since training grounds is already blue, March of the Machines would work perfectly if you just want to sac them for free.

3 card combo then, run Master of Etherium. Or any anthem.
May 4, 2016 3:32 p.m.
A neat idea, but it wouldn't be for free, since Training Grounds can at best reduce a cost to 1
May 4, 2016 4:18 p.m.
That does seem like a combo, however, I don't think that's what is making Training Grounds spike. Training Grounds spiking is probably just because of only having 1 printing and being a card that has potential as being part of good combos.
May 4, 2016 7:22 p.m.
if it were my id do tasigur. 2 mana for his ability is great. guildmages are also good with this.
May 4, 2016 9:07 p.m.
There's a Craig Wescoe article here where he uses it in a neat bant list (it's partway down the page, as he goes through multiple decks in the article), allowing the use of Eldrazi Displacer's and Duskwatch Recruiter Flip's abilities for just one mana each. Seems kind of cool.
I would really hesitate calling the price increase on Training Grounds a spike though... if you look at its price history it looks a lot more like steady slow growth over time than a spike/buyout/etc.

Holy shit. Training Grounds and Eldrazi Displacer? That's like, awesome. I'd love that with Eternal Witness and Mystic Snake.

Anyone else notice the recent spikes in price for Asceticism?

May 5, 2016 5:19 p.m.
So why is Nahiri, the Harbinger increasing in value?
May 6, 2016 5:58 a.m.
Immerwolf isn't really a spike. Just a price jump from demand because Tribal Wolves are being tested in Modern.
As forNahiri, the Harbinger, I can't tell what's causing it, but I have seen some more people playing her in Standard.
May 6, 2016 7:51 a.m.
PistonGolem says... #35
Anyone remember when Nahiri, the Harbinger was 9 bucks? Its not those days anymore...
May 6, 2016 8:11 a.m.
insertcleverid says... #36
I'm definitely guilty of being too timid here. Yesterday I had 2 $10 copies of Nahiri, the Harbinger in my cart at TCGplayer, but before I could make up my mind to pull the trigger my boss had the audacity to show up at work. By the time I got some privacy back, they had gone up to $14. I'm fully expecting to never hold another copy before rotation, if ever. :(

GoldGhost012 says... #38
I think Jeff Hoogland's trying her in Kiki-Chord and Joe Lossett's trying her in Miracles in addition to her (relatively small) Standard play.
May 6, 2016 11:29 a.m.
So.... is it just me or is Talisman of Progress spiking pretty hard?
May 9, 2016 3:49 p.m.
amazingdan says... #41
Yo, what happened to Pyromancer's Goggles? Last I checked they were $3-ish. I know they're being played in Standard, but are they good/played enough to be $15? I traded for a foil one within my casual playgroup, thinking it was $5-7 max. Feel bad for the other guy.
May 9, 2016 5:18 p.m.
SpringingTiger says... #42
amazingdan, there were two different decks in the top 8 of Pro Tour Shadows Over Innistrad playing the Goggles.
May 9, 2016 5:24 p.m.
Lake of the Dead had a sudden spike in the last few days.

What happened to cause all of the ABUR duals to jump? I recently acquired a NM Underground Sea for $200 and was surprised to see it is really worth $350.
May 15, 2016 2:31 p.m.
The_Redpill: the announcement of the upcoming eternal masters set. A ton of reserved cards spiked in response to wizards saying the reserve list was safe from reprinting/they were releasing a set of eternal reprints.
May 15, 2016 2:40 p.m.
So apparently Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip is dropping on TCG. Going for approximately $43 low.
May 16, 2016 12:20 p.m. Edited.
Femme_Fatale says... #50
That's just because of some heavily played versions of the card being listed TMBRLZ. The low is really around $55-$60.

Wheel was a buyout. Posted on Reddit.
