Who wouldve ever guessed that Greater Gargadon would spike due to dredge?

I noticed that Wooded Foothills has spiked recently.
Is there a solid reason?

Smuggler's Copter up a lot... A real lot, probably due to 32 copies being run in the top 8 of the SCG open.

Electrostatic Pummeler has spiked from $0.25-$0.40 to over $4. People are speculating on the RG agro deck that can make this guy a 20/20 trampler on turn 4 pretty easily. As a side note, I still have a sealed prerelease foil copy of it in case anyone is interested :)

Song of the Dryads has launched up to $18ish and on mtgstocks.com it says it went up to $10,000 but that's most likely incorrect info for sure

Hell yeah! I love Song of the Dryads, such a versatile green EDH card. One of green's few "removal" other than Lignify

Wow, this thread hasn't been used in a while.
Saheeli Rai is up to 20 from 5ish. Probably because you can play pseudo-Splinter Twin with Felidar Guardian
January 6, 2017 3:38 p.m.
I just saw that. Makes me wish I picked up more than two when It was going for five... I can't imagine it goes any higher than it is right now though, right?

I was thinking the same thing recently brokendwarf. Also, if you haven't looked at Surgical Extraction recently, it has spiked as well. I don't know why though.

I don't see how that would be the case Bovine073. Could you explain further?
January 7, 2017 1:58 a.m.
GeminiSpartanX well, I by no means assume that this is right, but it could have possibly spiked because of Fatal Push because this blows the door wide open for better black control decks in modern, which run discard spells that combo well with SE.
But, after hearing from other people, it seems that it spiked because people finally realized it is one of the best GY-hate cards in the format.

Unmask has shot up in price thanks to the success of BR reanimator in legacy. Definitely looks like a speculator buyout since it seemed to have happened overnight.

Retract is a little over $12. it was around $2 a few days ago :( I'm guessing theres a lot of people digging modern cheerios. which sucks cause that deck was pretty budget before this

also Chancellor of the Annex is a 4x in a recent RB reanimator legacy list that has been gaining popularity. probably why it spiked.

Bloom Tender keeps increasing probably since the release of the 4-color commander decks.

Just an FYI there is an app called Mise Eyes in the App Store that keeps track of trending cards and such. Between this thread and that it keeps me pretty up to date. ;)
January 22, 2017 9:25 p.m.
Puresteel Paladin is up to 11$ from 5$ I believe. Same reason as Retract. Cherrios and thanks to Sram, Senior Edificer, which I could also see going up.

Expropriate went up when AER came out. Went from about $6 to $16

Can anyone explain why Primal Vigor is $20+? I get that Doubling Season's too expensive these days, but there's always Parallel Lives. So, what's going on here?
January 27, 2017 9:50 a.m.
GeminiSpartanX says... #39
Rishkar, Peema Renegade EDH hype? BG counters is a pretty hyped standard deck right now, so it may be leading people to explore +1/+1 strategies more in EDH. Also Primal Vigor only has 1 printing in a certain commander pack, so scarcity might have something to do with it.
January 27, 2017 9:55 a.m.
I would say because Doubling Season is unaffordable that everyone buys Primal Vigor. Parallel Lives is great but not as good. But I'm not 100% sure
January 27, 2017 9:55 a.m.
NecroPony: Various. MTGStocks is showing $20+ while TCGplayer has the listed median being $25.
GeminiSpartanX: I have a (untested) Rishkar deck, and I will agree as to how well it will perform.
January 27, 2017 1:35 p.m.
WTF? Why is Three Visits a $600+ card all of a sudden on T/O?

And Spike Weaver, forgot about that, for the same reason above.

amazingdan says... #49
brokendwarf Any idea why that is? Doesn't seem very good tbh, but maybe there's a control deck I missed somewhere.
Is it a buyout? Still seems like an odd choice.
February 6, 2017 10:58 p.m.
amazingdan it sees play in Grixis Control as basically a strictly better Negate.

There's still 1 NM foil TS Gargadon for 25$ on this one website I've ordered from before, shipping calculated at 4.19 for some reason, but I don't feel like dealing with it so if anyone wants it let me know.
