Dredgar says... #2

I don't know what else it would be. Kinda did it around the time it came out.

email I got from mtggoldfish said Gideon Jura increased to $15 because of it's synergy with Gideon of the Trials.

Blood Moon has been steadily creeping up in price. A few weeks ago I saw most of the offers being 15-16$ on TCGPlayer, now they're all ~20$.

Anyone know what's up with Shining Shoal? Up 491% today! Source

May 1, 2017 7:37 p.m.

amazingdan says... #6

That Shining Shoal increase is disappointing, was hoping to build into a budget deck with that in it. It is fairly mystifying to me as well, anybody know what's up?

smackjack says... #7

Everytime a card shoots like this i want it even more. Shining Shoal would be fun in sideboards against Emrakul decks :).

It looks like Ethersworn Canonist got bought out. Tcgplayer doesn't have any under $17 anymore.

June 7, 2017 12:35 p.m.

Slowgod says... #15

There's a site that still has 2 Canonist of each version for 6$ each NM and LP, wonder if it's worth buying them...

June 7, 2017 2:08 p.m.

Where? I'd buy 2 lp ones for legacy

Slowgod

Thank you! I am now the proud owner of Ethersworn Canonist. Any reason why it was bought out? Where does it see play?

June 7, 2017 2:35 p.m.

It's in legacy sideboards as hate for storm. Death and Taxes and Stoneblade play it, not sure what else. Pretty much that's it. Why you'd buy it if you don't know where it's used is beyond me, but oh well.

ToolmasterOfBrainerd

I asked about where it's used to understand why it was bought out. I bought it because I wanted to make a EDH artifact control deck. Storm has recently been a huge issue in my meta and after this card was discussed here, I am glad I found a way to deal with it.

June 7, 2017 3:56 p.m.

Aah, that makes more sense

June 7, 2017 4:34 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #22

It's used as a 2-3 of in the new UB Portent lists which is why it was bought out. If the deck makes a good showing at GP Vegas, all of the relatively inexpensive cards, like cannonist, will go up in price. Basically, people buy em out before (now), hoping for a second buyout after a good showing.

kyuuri117

Is there a link to this type of deck (I'm a bit curious now)?

And to think it could go even higher? Damn

June 8, 2017 12:44 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #24

It's a 2-3 of in the sideboard*, sorry, it's not that interesting ha. It's the new post-sensei's top ban Miracles list. Just go to the legacy Reddit and check out one of the 5-0 league pages, you'll find one eventually. They call it "UB Portent or Unexpected Miracles". Can't find one/link to one right now.

For explanations on biggest changes across the market I view "Heroes and Legends MTG" on youtube. If you have other sources for general answers you can share them here.

Captain Sisay - up from 5-7 dollars to 40+

September 1, 2017 11:39 p.m.

RazortoothMtg says... #28

From Mtg Stocks:

Untaidake, the Cloud Keeper: Was 50 cents. Spiked to $19, the dropped to about $10, where it's at now.

Reki, the History of Kamigawa went from $5 to $14, then dropped to ~$10

Both of those are because of the new legendary planeswalker rule.

CChaos says... #29

Alpha and Beta are now being targeted. Look at the list of Interests on MTGstocks, there is a large number of them present.

Uh... I mean... buyouts suck!

I should have sold my Narwhals when they got bought out a while ago ;)

September 2, 2017 12:59 p.m.

RazortoothMtg says... #32

Since no one has mentioned it (I assume most people have noticed), a ton of cards from the UB control lists from wrolds and online have spiked, like Search for Azcanta  Flip link, Drowned Catacomb link, and The Scarab God link.

DeathByDesign says... #38

Anyone know why History of Benalia spiked 95% overnight? Didn't know if there was an article or something. It's a good card that started at $5 and went up gradually to $9, but now it's $18? Seems odd for a card that isn't out yet, and doesn't seem to have loaded expectations like a Mox or Planeswalker.
