Seedborn Muse Tenth Edition is now $100, Assuming Buyout as the other versions are barely breaking $25-$26?

January 31, 2016 8:11 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #3

The 10th version is more rare than others. Ridiculous that it's at $100. On another note; Tamiyo moon sage has steadily increased to $18.

Monsmtg says... #4

Past in Flames is looking nice at $21(mtgstocks, not quite sure where they got that) either way $13ish tcg is nice and it's going upwards fast. Got mine for $4 :P

Ej1997 says... #5

@ Campbellstev: it's probably because edh is using it as a replacement for prophet of kruphix.

And I'm seriously trying to wrap my head around past in flames.

January 31, 2016 8:18 p.m.

CampbellStev says... #6

I was only referring to the Tenth Edition Version of Seedborn Muse as the buyout, my bad.

January 31, 2016 8:29 p.m.

Maltanis says... #7

Past in Flames is likely going up due to Storm being more viable in modern now due to Twin being gone? Seems the only reasonably explanation.

GeminiSpartanX says... #8

Looks like Worship is on the cusp of a buyout. I just paid $5 for a white-boardered 8th ed. version. The Urza version on tcgplayer is going for $10 already.

SoggyGecko says... #9

There is a large price jump in Collected Company, up to about $15 (50%-ish increase). I think this is due to standard.

GeminiSpartanX people are finally converting to the glorious White Border Master Race, that's why. ;)

GabeCubed Collected Pod is also one of the more resilient modern decks at the moment.

February 1, 2016 2:28 p.m.

DrFunk27: "Collected Pod"? What is the "Pod" portion of the deck?

February 1, 2016 3:15 p.m.

rorofat says... #13

It uses the same pod combo from when birthing pod was legal, so the name stuck.

February 1, 2016 3:17 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #14

Gorgosaurusrex You've never seen it? Man, you must live under a rock. lol The deck basically just took the entire Pod shell, changed pod with Collected Company and boom, same deck, new name Podless Collected.

February 1, 2016 3:28 p.m.

I've always heard of it referred to as Junk CoCo or whatever, I've never heard someone still use the Pod name with it. Birthing Pod is banned, stop using it lol.

February 1, 2016 4:27 p.m.

lemmingllama says... #16

Sometimes people call it Podless Pod, since Chord of Calling and Collected Company do similar work. But most people I know have moved to calling it Abzan Company.

February 1, 2016 4:33 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #17

Kiki Chord is the proper name >.>

Now back on topic.

February 2, 2016 3:14 p.m.

Femme, Kiki Chord is a different deck than Abzan Company/Podless. Kiki-chord doesn't play Collected Company and doesn't use things like Melira or Anafenza to combo off. The idea behind them is similar even though the decklists vary greatly.

Now back on topic.

February 2, 2016 3:20 p.m.

Servo_Token says... #19

Kiki chord and Podless Collected are two different decks entirely.

Kiki is the terrible Naya one that tries to go off with Kiki Resto, and Podless is the terrible Junk one that tries to go off with Melira / Anafenza, fitchen kinks, and a sac outlet.

In other news, nothing is really too hip or happening in the modern world. Worship is one of the only cards to break out, and it's gone from the 50 cent range to the $2s. No big deal there.

Standard, Kalitas is up to about $15 now, which is fun.

The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale is now officially an $800 card. I should have bought in last year when it was 6...

February 2, 2016 3:25 p.m.

SoggyGecko says... #20

Ghost Quarter has seen some substantial increase, with most of the versions near $2. Dissension edition is almost double.

February 2, 2016 3:59 p.m.

Night's Whisper is going up for some odd reason. B/x Eldrazi?

February 3, 2016 7:04 p.m.

Ancestral Vision also continues to rise for apparently no reason. Did some Legacy deck do well with it?

February 3, 2016 7:08 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #23

FAMOUSWATERMELON Vendors and Stores are speccing that it will be unbanned in the Fall after the meta settles now that Twin is banned. If Aggro keeps dominating the Top16, I expect it to happen.

February 3, 2016 7:11 p.m.

Yeah, that definitely makes sense, though it does feel a bit early for speculation.

February 3, 2016 7:13 p.m.

DrFunk27 says... #25

FAMOUSWATERMELON Not if the rumor that Vendors are privy to inside information is true. If they know that Visions is on the watch list for an unban, they will start buying asap. Glad I have 4 lol

February 3, 2016 7:21 p.m. Edited.

I'm going to have to snag a playset myself, it looks like.

Off of mtgstocks.com:

Eldrazi Mimic, Endless One, and Fire-Lit Thicket all spiked within the last 24 hours.

Also this is the reason for Descendants' Path increase (mtgstocks):

"Descendants' Path gained a lot of value this week, and for a good reason. Aside from the beautiful artwork, Descendants' Path works well with Eldrazis. Just imagine what happens when say, Kozilek, the Great Distortion or Emrakul, the Aeons Torn just happen to be on top of your library, with a Descendants' Path in play. And please note that the card says 'you may cast', so you will sneak it into play, and still get to stack the 'whenever you cast'-ability.

No wonder people start to brew with this. 2G is easy to cough up in Modern, and even in Legacy. Not to mention in EDH or kitchen table magic. At this moment, the card is completely sold out. Expect this card to gain some more value."

February 7, 2016 2:43 a.m.

Unforgivn_II says... #41

Also, Simian Spirit Guide is through the roof at 20 ish. Looks like a buyout of sorts as there are only 3 non foil on TCGplayer, all from the same vendor

All the Johnny's are changing to the only combo deck left in the modern format. Grishoalcannon

February 7, 2016 9:39 a.m.

No I think the spike is due to ChannelFireball using Simian Spirit Guide for t1 Chalice of the Void set to 1.

February 7, 2016 9:44 a.m.

car says... #44

guys, time to buy Windbrisk Heights. Its at an alltime low of 14 cents

February 7, 2016 10:09 a.m.

seuvius says... #45

Do you think I should offload my playsets of Simian Spirit Guides and Death's Shadow or wait a bit?

February 7, 2016 3:32 p.m.

Unforgivn_II says... #46

Spirit guides seem to be falling right back. People keep undercutting prices so we'll see what the market value really is. Its at 14~15 now. Waiting on my playset to come in to offload em before they go down to the 8 I paid for em. I have a feeling it's a flash in the pan with the guides, and later decks probably won't run them. But it remains to be seen. You could ditch em now for good profit, or risk some profit for a possible better payoff

February 7, 2016 4:29 p.m. Edited.

Femme_Fatale says... #47

car, here's a little task for you, click on that card link, and go click on the price, and see what happens, I think you'll be surprised.

Painter's Servant has been bought out!

February 8, 2016 12:31 a.m.

DrFunk27 says... #49

Well so much for trying to buy those...this really confuses me. It's not played at all in Modern (yet) and I doubt legacy demand would do this. I guess it's just a buyout. Oh well.

February 8, 2016 12:49 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #50

DrFunk27, the last Pro tour had 6/8 top decks be U/R eldrazi aggro. Painter's Servant is so far the only card that actually hates on that deck consistently enough.
