DrFunk27 Well i guess its not that far fetched considering she was on the sheet for M15.
"This card was here to fight a different card that was in and out of FFL Liliana of the Veil. When she was removed from M15.....etc etc" Source.
Now, we return to her home plane. They have already recently considered a reprint. Black devotion is no longer a problem. I think this is the set they decided to reprint her in..
February 12, 2016 6:11 p.m.
smackjack Yes, it's common knowledge she was potentially going to be reprinted in M15, but again, it's not just Mono Black. She is inherently broken. If she is reprinted, every deck will play Black to play her, or play a deck that can beat her. She is format warping, and I highly doubt Wizards will want their Pro Tours to be, Liliana the Pro Tour. In a format with Duress, Despise, Thought Knot Seer, etc. it's insane to even think about reprinting her. If Wizards does, they are fools. However, I will happily play my 4 from Innistrad in Standard.
I give it a 10% likely chance of happening.
February 12, 2016 6:27 p.m.
DrFunk27 well. She is not format warping. She is only really good in a deck that supports her. In Standard, I could see her in a lot of "sac one then leave it at 1" scenarios..
And every deck played Siege Rhino, or a deck that could beat it. The same could be said about any played card or strategy...
February 12, 2016 6:59 p.m. Edited.
smackjack Sure. I'm going to assume that you've not played with Liliana much. No, she doesn't need to be supported. She is good in any Bx deck and she would be insane in Standard.
February 12, 2016 7:06 p.m.
I have 3, my fried has 4. Neither of us has a home for her. We tried her in different builds (alot), but her + is just awkward most times. You want Lingering Souls, Life from the Loam, Bloodghast, Crucible of Worlds or things like that to get the $100+ value out of her. Or.. maybe we just suck at magic :).

So is this The Official Liliana of the Veil Thread now?
February 12, 2016 7:39 p.m.
canterlotguardian No, sorry. lol Anyways, Ghostly Prison has been rising recently. Soorani posted a sweet Jeskai Control build today using it.

In other news, Archangel of Thune is over $30 now thanks to the dedicated Spike Feeder combo deck. TCGplayer source

CFB's colorless eldrazi and the fact the card couldn't be found until after the pro tour. Wonder why?
February 15, 2016 3:15 p.m.
Up go the ABUR Duals! Alas, they will never be affordable to me now...
February 15, 2016 5:37 p.m.
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip is back up to $80 following the announcement of Madness in Shadows.
February 15, 2016 6:40 p.m.
Mox Diamond and Mox Diamond have more than doubled according to MTGStocks and TCGPlayer.
February 17, 2016 5:52 a.m.
Sorry for the double post, wasn't fast enough in noticing that Master of Etherium had spiked as well.
February 17, 2016 5:58 a.m.
GeminiSpartanX says... #16
Pretty much every card that sees legacy play on the reserve list is spiking thanks to the eternal masters announcement. If you haven't bought your legacy duals by now (which includes me), mentally prepare to never have ABUR duals in your lifetime.

And so is Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, but slower. $1 compared to Finks' $3.

NecroPony Damnation will continue to rise until it's reprinted. It's one of the main answers to the modern meta currently.

Topdeckermtg2016 says... #23
Im surprised shocklands haven't spiked yet. Really though magic is expensive to play competitively. Modern staples will only continue to rise as it is will outpace legacy in terms of popularity as we have already begun to see with legacy's uncertain future.
February 17, 2016 4:19 p.m.
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but it looks like Ashnod's Altar is going up. prices have more than doubled for almost all printings in the last few days.
February 19, 2016 5:46 a.m.
Grim Monolith jumped by about $10. I just wish I wasn't bickering in my head over it before the spike. Alas...I can only speculate where it will settle.
February 19, 2016 9:19 a.m.
grumbledore says... #27
I wonder if Grim Monolith is a buy out based on people speculating that mud will be the most likely deck for new legacy players to get into, because there's no ABUR duals. You know, because of eternal masters
February 19, 2016 10:20 a.m.
That doesn't sound so far on the newer legacy players, no?
I'll admit I had to get one before it was going to spike even higher. Same with Primal Beyond, which jumped to at least $4.50 due to a buyout (I think).

Mox Diamond has almost tripled in price - was sitting around $30, it's now $80 on tcg. Probably because of the Eternal Masters announcement and it's on the reserved list.
February 19, 2016 11:45 a.m.
It's safe to call it at this point that anything on the reserve list is going to start climbing rapidly in price.
That includes everything from Lion's Eye Diamond to Underground Sea to Meditate to Memory Jar.
February 19, 2016 3:02 p.m.
Good job I got most of the reserved cards I need. My only problem is evaluating Forcefield in EDH.

DrFunk27 well, you were entirely wrong about JVP a few months ago. You predicted he would drop from it's 60$ perch, now it's found a new perch at 90$. Good thing I did the opposite of what you suggested... and instead of unloading JVPs, I kept all 6 of mine. Good thing I knew you were full of shit.
February 20, 2016 9:45 a.m.
Fleetwood-Mat Is it rotating? No. It won't rotate until the Fall, so yeah, it can still fall below $60. But thanks for _trying _to make me look like an ass. You're such a good investor, we should all be like you. See this everyone? THIS is the example of a good example. Be like him.
The madness mechanic was definitely unforeseen, which is why he went to $90, but he still won't keep a $60+ price tag after rotation. I really care less whether you take my advice. That's what you get on a forum. You ask a question, people answer you. Deal with it.
Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Grab some coffee and a cold shower hero! You just saved yourself a SHIT TON OF MONEY! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.

Look guys this is a forum where people are looking to openly discussing their decisions and not be attacked for it.
@Fleet: feel completely ok to be happy about a good financial situation. If you want to show off great good for you for stroking your ego off. But do not attack other people it's uncalled for an completely unjustified. If you disagree with someone fine but this is a public forum and people do not need to see this.
@DrFunk: If he wants to be an ass and make comments like that fine let him. But be the bigger man and ignore him and if you think he was wrong to laugh in his face two months from now when standard rotates and he gets screwed. But again like I told him this is a public forum. If you two have beef take it to a PM or email I don't care. However I don't want to see this when I go on here see the notification and think hey useful information and see this bullshit. It does nothing for the community but show you two are to immature to keep private vendettas just that.

Now now, children. It's not polite to catfight in public. That's what the PM system is for.
February 20, 2016 11:54 a.m.
Horizon Canopy is worth $80 and I can't figure out why, outside of use in kiki-chord or trends in legacy that I don't know about; can anybody tell me if its going to stay that way.
February 20, 2016 12:06 p.m.
Ej1997 I have no qualms nor do I know of any reason for him to be so abrasive. Did I retaliate? Yup; oh well. I have no idea why he said what he said other than him being salty about something. I'll leave it at that. As I said, this is a forum full of opinions. If you don't like them, you don't have listen. lol
February 20, 2016 12:22 p.m.
Skimm3r I've asked the same question at my LGS and from what I've gathered there's high demand because it's pain land with a draw spell attached which in green white is a big deal especially since there's little to no effective draw in those colors.

SimicPower Madness returning in Standard, so maybe it's a spec? Incredibly low supply too.

Fleetwood-Mat says... #42
Ej1997; it's not an ego thing, when I talked to him before, I was telling people why it's not a good idea to unload a card like Jace VP, and he was telling everyone that it was going to drop down to 10$, and everyone should unload theirs. You'd be pretty p'ed off if you had a 60$ card and someone told you it was going to drop to 10$, so you unload it, then it climbs up to nearly 100$. Like 60$ to 90$ is a pretty big difference... People should appreciate that I'm trying to help them save money, or avoid making dumb trades by pointing out the flawed logic behind this dude's advice, and how he's been wrong before. Think about if you had sold/traded a playset of JVPs back then, that's 120$ you'd be out right now; more than the value of a single copy as it stands.
Honestly, it doesn't matter one bit to me what people think about my investments, my specs or any card in my collection, I never told anyone to buy, sell or hold anything, all I ever said in that thread was that JVP is not overvalued, is eternal format playable, and isn't going to see a significant drop (even after rotation). Then this dude starts bashing my opinions and calling me names, and I say ONE snarky thing in this thread, and all of a sudden I'm being "abrasive"?
Sure, Magic cards are difficult to predict the market of, people make spec mistakes all the time, and it is fully the responsibility of the person who owns the cards in question to make the right decisions for themselves, so if that's the case, don't come insulting me and my insight if I have something to say about it, and if you DO, then you'd best be prepared to be insulted back when you're proven wrong. If it wasn't for his responses to my messages in the other thread, I would've kept my mouth shut.
I just hope you all heed my warning and steer clear of other peoples' spec advice... It might save you some coin down the road.
February 20, 2016 9:40 p.m.
The fact that we are just random dudes (& gals) you shouldn't base your trading or selling a card based off what some random person said. Does he work for scg, tcg, wotc? Then his opinion is exactly that, his own opinion. He didn't know about future mechanics and it's common knowledge that stuff 95% of the times drops after rotation. Obviously he is wrong in this situation due to a mechanic making a reappearance in the new set. He did say when it rotates and it's not rotating yet. So let's revisit this after a month after flip jace rotates, until then, fucking drop it.
February 20, 2016 9:55 p.m.
Post in question. Hyperlink won't work- just copy/paste if you care. I'm done soiling this thread over something this stupid.

Look I don't care what the argument is. My only concern is that I just wasted a portion of my life again thinking I'd see useful relevant information and instead I see this nonsense. Drop it.
Alright I swear this is like being a waiter and getting left a tip in fake money.
So instead of trying to make yourself look good drop it. You'll look better shutting your trap then keeping it flapping.
February 20, 2016 10:20 p.m.
Wanderwine Hub is rising. It's up to $10. UW Merfolk has done well recently.
Also, Magus of the Tabernacle has doubled. Unsure if it can sustain a higher price but it is from an older set so supply may be limited.

FAMOUSWATERMELON says... #47
People, can we not?
Great Whale is up to 6 something for no clear reason. Probably just an old card with limited supply. And it's good in EDH, but Palinchron is better.
February 20, 2016 10:41 p.m. Edited.
FAMOUSWATERMELON Maybe people are using it as a substitute for Palinchron, or playing it alongside it.
February 20, 2016 11:15 p.m.
FAMOUSWATERMELON says... #49
Well it is on the reserved list, so EMA hype is probably playing a part.
February 20, 2016 11:21 p.m.
It seems to me that it's being hit by the two biggest factors for cards like that spiking.
Played in EDH
Limited supply
DrFunk27 says... #1
smackjack Because she is Liliana of the Effin Veil. lol
But seriously, reprinting the 2nd strongest planewalker in a block that uses Madness is literally the dumbest thing Wizards could ever do. Even they are not stupid enough to do such a thing. Additionally, Wizards has said they regret even printing her to begin with. She was too strong in Standard during that block and she would be incredibly OP now.
If your reasoning is because she needs to be reprinted, I agree, but standard is not the place to do it. Wizards will not use Standard to reprint broken Modern cards i.e. Snapcaster Mage, Liliana, Dark Confidant, Tarmogoyf, etc. Eternal Masters is starting to gain solid truth that it's real, and that is the most likely place for her to be reprinted.
So my question is, why are you so certain she will be? All indication is that no, she won't.
