Deathrite Shaman. Keep or trade?

With Deathrite Shaman being banned in modern, its only home is in Legacy. I'm not a Legacy player, so I don't know how often it's used. Would it be best to trade off my playset or should I wait?

You should probably hold on to it. It's the lowest it's ever going to be right now.

DRS won't get unbanned in Modern as long as fetches are still legal in the format.

Deathrite Shaman sees more play in Legacy than True-Name Nemesis, Stoneforge Mystic, Snapcaster Mage, and even Tarmogoyf.

Even though a lot of RtR was opened, I think it's insane to trade Deathrite Shaman away at anything under $20.

Just look at how hard it is to get Noble Hierarch. That's a card that's only 6 years old. Imagine what Deathrite Shaman could be in 8 when people are trying to get them for Legacy decks.

Waiting 8 years for a profit is a long time, however.

Depends on your playing style and your game involvement. If you like to trade as well as play: I'd say hold on to it.If your sole purpose is to play, and if the Deathrite Shaman isn't your thing: I'd say trade him away in a very beneficial deal (for your beneficial that is :) ).

I have my set, but since they're only 8 bucks, it's time to start on the second set.

It's an interesting one. As Shocks were reprinted, a lot of packs got cracked, thus a lot of them got opened, so we have a large amount in circulation. Their banning in Modern so quickly means people now use them for Legacy and the odd EDH deck, so the number of them in existence greatly outweighs the number of people who need them, at the moment.

I think their worth holding onto, they aren't going to drop in value, but how much they rise is very circumstantial.

I would assume that being banned in Modern dramatically reduces the possibility that we'll ever see a reprint.
