So at the Pre release I pulled a Jace, the Living Guildpact I picked Red for the event. I actually started it as a Green/Black deck vut my LGS is very casual and fun so we are allowed to edit our decks after a match. I ended up going Red/Blue. Now with Jace in it. I ended up getting his ult off twice. So I thought maybe this Jace is not that bad. So anyway as of that night he was priced around $10. I do not play blue in any format nor really plan to so I traded him. I got Soul of New Phyrexia Phyrexian Revoker promo Indulgent Tormentor and a Zen full art forest. Was this a good trade? I seen Jace going down still so I am happy but will he bounce up? Let me know what you guys think.

You're always allowed to change your deck between rounds

xlaleclx: The ability to edit your deck at a prerelease isn't because of the REL level. That's a rule for all limited events.

ljs54321 that's not true... At Limited PTQ's you register the pools and a 40 card mainboard. You can not switch your mainboard around after rounds. Like xlaleclx said, it's common at pre-release though.

At Regular REL, you can do some switching. At competitive, you cannot. So if you're having a draft at your LGS on tuesday night, you can still switch your deck around.

In terms of straight value the trade is even to a tiny bit ahead. Jace, the Living Guildpact is ~$9. Soul of New Phyrexia is ~$7, Phyrexian Revoker is $1, promo Indulgent Tormentor is .50c - if that - and a Zen full art forest is like $1. So you end up more or less even.
Personally I probably wouldn't have traded like that though or at least gotten a couple more dollars out of the trade. Jace, the Living Guildpact has a much better potential to be valuable than any of those cards. For instance, nothing is going to change that the promo cards are essentially worthless in terms of value since there's thousands of them, but if all the hints of Khans featuring some kind of graveyard mechanic are true then Jace, the Living Guildpact could shoot up.

If you plan on using the cards you got, sure, it was worth it. When I traded Nissa, Worldwaker for a foil Perilous Vault , I looked at the price but I jumped on the opportunity since I want a foil mythic I'll definitely play over a card that I won't play.
