Do I have a Misprint?

So I was looking thru my Theros red cards and came across a Skullcrack that looked odd. Its hard to explain, but all the text on the card is...over-saturated, if that makes much sense. I dont have another to compare it to but when you put it next to another card, you can see the skullcrack definitely has thicker, fuzzier text.

Would this be considered a misprint?

its really hard to tell in the pics, but all the flavor text and such has a slight shadow to it, and you can really tell with the name and instant text. if that doesnt work then:

Misprint?

that level of difference isn't really enough to get a misprint collector's attention.

I think I have a lot of cards like that, and they probably aren't misprints.

Yeah they prob just refilled the ink or something. I was drafting once and all of our packs practically had bold text on them.

I have a few of these too. The owner of the lgs I used to go to said they were just poor printings. Missprints have something wrong printed on them (color, symbols, wording). smudged, blurred or shadowed text doesn't normally count. As others said it's usually from a change of ink.

As an example of an infamous misprint, the Blue Hurricane. It was printed with the green mana symbols like normal, but was on the blue card background.

here is my misprint:

IDK how to make it a live link so... copy paste.... look at the top left corner of the card...

@REV666: That isn't a misprint. Overinking needs to be blatant and severe to count as a real misprint. Your Skullcrack 's difference in inking is barely perceptible, and likely a product of variance in the printing process.

@Nick, Casual Strategist: That's an ink error, and it is considered a misprint. Unfortunately, Midnight Recovery is not a valuable card, so the misprint is worth little. It's basically a novelty collectible.

Still cool though. I just wanted to share it.

I used to have a Stuffy Doll with smudged ink and a miscolored Vampire Nighthawk , both probably due to new ink being put in. The Nighthawk had a definite purple hue to everything.

Change of tint, shade, and hue is a very common variance across print runs. It just depends on the mix and fill of the ink.

Also, the most valuable misprints tend to be miscuts (with parts of other cards showing), non-prints (with a missing back or front), and legitimate design errors (see: blue Hurricane ).

Fun fact: Every foil Reflecting Pool from Shadowmoor has the white mana symbol watermark in its text box due to a design error.

I saw someone selling a NM Blue Hurricane for 20 grand, and it sold within a few hours.

i figured as much guys, just was wondering. im sure in the early days these were a little more exciting.

on a different topic, that Stuffy Doll looks like he could be a major PITA in gameplay, maybe if you used him in modern and bestowed the ish out of him he could be quite scary.
