Does it get opened? (RTR speculation)

Hey guys,
So right now i'm sitting on one sealed booster box of Return to Ravnica. I'm wondering whether or not you think that I should open it.
Checking TCG, there are still apparently dozens of these boxes at less than $100, which is what I bought the box for. How long do you think that this will last? I don't want to be sitting on this thing for a few years, which is what I fear I will have to do to make a decent profit on it.
So what do you think? Is it worth it to open it up for the goodies inside?
(Excuse me if this belongs in a different forum)

Well, I say that I don't want to sit on it because it takes up space in my apartment, whereas if I open it, I only have to hang on to the 20 or so rares that I'll keep, and bulk the rest. Because I have little to no space to keep it in good condition, the box is no longer "pretty" and I feel I might not be able to get as much for it because of that down the road.
In the mean time, however, I'm asking this question mainly to see if people think that i'll be able to pick up another box at roughly $110 in a few months when I have more physical space to accommodate it.

Oh! Is it not in its original packaging? Like does it have the plastic wrapped around the outside still?

Note that RtR has begun a slow rise according to price graphs I literally just checked.

It still has the original wrapping, but over the course of a few months, it's been around and under a lot of other cards in, what is admittedly, suboptimal conditions, and the box looks kind of similar to your average draft land at your LGS. The wrapping sits very loosely on the box, the perforation on the fold out display is broken, and the edges of the box are quite dinged.
Of course, if and when I get this new box, I'll have space to keep it in a secure location to keep the box as NM as possible.
The condition on the box is probably the biggest factor in what made me consider opening it.

If its still wrapped in the plastic - its fine. I really wouldnt open it unless the plastic wrapping gets damaged.

Oh, yeah, I had definitely planned on it.
Looking at the box right now, there is a small hole in the plastic at one of the seams. Would you count that as Damaged? It's not really noticeable unless you look for it, but i'm certain that anyone who would be buying it online would be looking for it.

Its more that the boxes can be mapped and the boosters replaced with ones that have no good rares. The plastic wrapping lets people know that you havent tampered with the actual boosters.

Ah, righto.
Well, as long as the condition of the actual container doesn't matter, I guess i'm fine opening it up. I'm probably going to be buying a second box of RTR to open up though, just because i'm just really itching to open up some packs.

Yeh its not about the box itself, its about assuring people that you havent tampered with the contents.

Good ol' RTR. First set I bought a box of and probably my favorite set since I've begun playing. You lucky man, you :P

Why do you not want to sit on it for a few years?
Since rotation Innistrad boxes have more than doubled in price. That's been 1 year. Innistrad has Liliana of the Veil , Geist of Saint Traft and Snapcaster Mage .
Return to ravnica is an unknown at this point but has 10 shocklands, including the most played shockland in modern, it has Abrupt Decay , Deathrite Shaman , and the fringe playable Supreme Verdict .
I would like to see RtR do what Innistrad has done (a rough double in price in a year). It probably wont because liliana is a mythic whereas the shocklands are rares (there are more shocklands in circulation than lilianas) - however I think appreciation is a certainty. The real question is how much and how much you actually consider to be significant.
At this point, I don't think its worth opening a RtR box for standard, its only worth opening for modern. Given that modern will still exist in a years time I would say - wait for September next year. If it hasn't gone up in that time then open it.
