ahhh ok, but are you sure a price for a card like this will lower?

There is no deck so far that uses the card well. The price atm is just the "hype" price.
Personally I'd wait like a week after release. I guess it's down to ~4euro / 5 dollars then.

Personally, I'd suggest you bookmark MTGStocks all-time page, where your card, Eldritch Evolution is on the all time low side, and will likely be there for a while.

I think this card will spawn whole decks around it.

Lots of people compare it to CoCo, but there was a point where CoCos were selling for $3-$4 before people realized how incredibly awesome it is. As of now I don't think there is a home for Eld.Evo in standard, so since it's a rare instead of mythic I think that it will fall in price after a few weeks to $4 or so, barring some crazy deck winning with a set of them in the next Pro Tour.

It will be less than $5. It's a rare and will be heavily opened.

The real driving price for Eldritch Evolution will be outside of Standard. The card might replace Chord of Calling and spawn a stronger version of Podless Pod. It could also be really good in Kiki Chord.
I'm not sure that it will see Legacy play because Natural Order can grab Craterhoof Behemoth and Progenitus by sacrificing a mana dork. However, I could see it being used as copies 5 through 8 of Natural Order to get sideboard cards or Nettle Sentinels.
I wouldn't be surprised if it drops down to $5, then jumps to $15+, then gets banned in Modern.

Evolution is not a substitute for chord. If you're playing Evolution you are playing chord alongside it

@DrFunk27: In Collected Company? I'm personally thinking about cutting a few Chord of Callings to jam in Eldritch Evolution. You can cast it as early as turn 2 and you don't need to have a large board presence to get something large. Playing a Kitchen Finks after getting hit by Wrath of God on turn 4 means you can tutor up a Reveillark. At the same time, I don't think Coco has enough room to fit 12 non-creature spells in the deck. I'm not even sure you can play more than 8 on a consistent basis.
You're right about Kiki Chord, though. If you're playing Kiki Chord, you're playing 4 copies of each card. It's exactly the kind of thing the deck is missing since it has trouble hitting things with Collected Company.

sylvannos evolution and collected company don't seem to play well together. It's two separate strategies. I'll let someone better versed in this comment, but there have been many discussions about this already. Coco goes wide, Chord/evolution want to play combo with silver bullet answers.
However, I will say a coco hitting Melira and Finks and then casting evolution for Thune sounds pretty disgusting.

Preorder prices are too high most of the times unless it plays a big part in a winning deck in a big tournament. It has some potential, but I think it's pretty narrow. It fits in a Chord deck, but not many others. It does some ramping, but ramp decks have better options. Ultimately you need your own judgment to decide wether it's worth it to bet on that, as there's never a sure thing. Even if the card goes up, it could be just temporary if people find good answers or the meta changes.

I feel like i'm alone in my opinion, but I think the card is a dud.
It's complete garbage in standard. You are two for one ing yourself, and all the best creatures you can Evolution INTO are all cast triggers. Do you REALLY want to evolution into a reality smasher? No. What about an Emrakul? No. It's just not good in standard, at all.
As for modern? If the card is as good as people think it is, the card is getting banned in 6 months. If the card is NOT as good as people think it is, it's going to eat a counterspell and you're going to 3 for 1 yourself.
It's not worth anything, stay away.

I personally will be trying it out in Abzan Melira Combo, since turning a late-game dork into a combo piece seems like a good idea. I don't think the Allosaurus Rider deck will ever take off, but there are some good midrange value decks in Modern that will make use of it. However, I agree that as of now there isn't much incentive to run it in standard, so that will keep the price from going higher than it is now.

No, Preordain prices never hold. The card will drop in price from more being opened.
