Did the card just spike or did I miss it? it's like 7-8 dollars now, with foils at 17-25 dollars.
Its pretty fantastic in Collected Company. It'll probably hold this value through the end of Modern season, and then sink back down.

kmcree thank you for being realistic and not just saying "its a modern staple its rising because its amazing and itll only go up" like what everyone here says about every card that has an increase in price

This seems like it's a healthy spike. It's very well used in CoCo decks, like kmcree said. It's also been a fair bit of time since MM1, which was when it was last printed.
It's also a crazy bomb in EDH. Def. my top 2 for green EDH cards.

Also lesser known but it is quite good in tiny leaders. The format is on an uprising and has been making subtle dents in the price of cards.

Yea I just noticed that at the beginning on July it was still like $2-3, and now it's 6-8.

if you look at witness's history the card actually did sit around that price for the longest time until it got a lot of reprints around the time of the first MM (mostly casual format decks like archenemy and planechase with a dual deck) and the demand has just finally caught back up with the supply. She's also too popular a reprint card for buyers to really jack her price up without fear of the supply knocking the price back down, but it is also still too good to let sit below $5.

yeah and as for the foil, that's been the price of the foil for a while now. I sold mine off for 22 ish about 7 months ago.

I think it's because Elves is rising in popularity, and it can be used to grab a used Collected Company or a dead Lord. It started to rise at the beginning of this month, and it has gone up about a dollar since. Doesn't seem like a buyout.
