Faeburrow Elder

  • We get a sort of kinda Bloom Tender and it barely scratches a buck in terms of price.

  • The set hasn't even been out a week, but this is really putting me off.

The difference between 2 and 3 mana and mono and multi colored is huge. EDH is the major driving force behind Bloom Tender 's price. Not being usable in half of the three color decks that Bloom Tender can be limits the usability greatly. Having to invest 3 mana instead of 2 into a dork slows you down limiting the playability.

The lower demand from decreased number of decks and lower playability as well as increased supply from being in a current unlimited print run set means that the price of Faeburrow Elder is going to stay significantly less than Bloom Tender

Why is it putting you off? Cheaper alternatives to expensive cards are a good thing, no?

Bloom Tender is 11 years old, has never been reprinted, and was from a set that was way less opened than todays sets. Look up foils from that block...

I agree that it's undervalued currently. I'm not only comparing it to Bloom Tender , there are many other pricey mana dorks in the game. Even though many of them like Bloom Tender only see serious amounts of play in casual formats like edh. I already bought a whole bunch of Faeburrow Elder s as a spec and to play with in edh.
