So fetchlands seem to have been mostly confirmed.Assuming mana confluence has been stable at $12 ( in my local market based off SCG prices ) for a reasonable while now. Are mana confluences going to increase / decrease / stay in value. I have a playset but might need to sell at 0 profit incase they start plummeting due to fetches essentially grabbing you one of each color when you need it for 1 pain.

It's also a better replacement for city of brass in all other formats so i see it staying where it is

Mt only issue with the Confluence vs Fetches is that you take 1 once to find a land you need. Confluence is a quicker fix, but you take damage everytime and even once you no longer need the fix it hurts you just to use it. I'd rather have Pain lands because they become colorless later game.

Fetches in Standard aren't exactly dual lands. They'll get you a basic you need, but that's not always good enough.
For example, an opening hand of Forest , Plains , Windswept Heath still can't cast Precinct Captain on turn 2 AND Courser of Kruphix on turn 3. If the Heath were a "real" W/G dual, this wouldn't be the case.

The main point of this thread is a price being forced up/down/no change by the introduction of the fetch lands. Pain lands are not in this factor since the price WITH pain lands have stabled out. Only the introduction to fetches can make an impact on the price of mana confluence since it removes SOME need for them due to 12 cards being able to mana fix your deck in addition to basic lands at a cost of 1 life. Vs 1 life every time you use it.
My question remains unanswered for the most part besides the first 2 comments. Will mana confluences value be affected negatively or positively or not be affected by the fact that pain lands are coming back.

I believe once Fetchlands are released their hype will drive confluence down in price then a month or two after it will stabilize.

lol I think Confluence has been overpriced this whole time. Glad to see it drop and people stop playing it.

Confluence will retain its Standard-era value if 2 and 3-color aggressive decks remain popular. There will always be a demand for untapped multi-lands. Its price is likely to dip, however, as its Standard life wears on. As more copies get opened and traded for, the number of people looking for the card will go down. Just like Thoughtseize , the price will go down over time regardless of how much play it sees.
It will almost definitely hold its value post-rotation simply because its effect is both sought after and unique.

Thanks for the comments guys. Ive decided to sell since chances are with the latest spoilers i will be playing a BR aggro with goblins and some black dudes with the raid mechanic. It also lets me get some value out of stain the mind which i believe is a amazing card when on game 2 you can pretty much remove their primary answer to your deck. Have fun at the prereleases guys

I mean the way I see it, I can get my mana fix for 1 life only and not have to worry about 1 life each time, the issue becomes you are getting basics at this point, which doesn't always immediately fix. I think it will go down, but it will still be used to some extent in three color decks
