I've never sent a card to get graded I recently got a card I want to get graded. I know beckett and PSA are the two big ones and there's pcg on the rise. What are some recommendations on where to send it what to do with it once I decide to send it out. I'm looking for any advice you can give me

Out of curiosity, which card, and why do you desire to get it graded?
The reason I ask is because MTG is different that other trading card games because the value of MTG cards are almost always determined by their playability. Generally in the MTG community, rare and valuable cards (serialized cards, Gaea's Cradle, etc.) are considered better sleeved and in a deck than graded. As such, the value of graded cards is not impacted by a high PSA grade as something like a Pokemon card would. This is because a graded card is not "playable" - it can't go in a deck because it is in a plastic case.
If you are wanting to get a card graded just for your own collection or as a treasured keepsake, then I would go with PSA. But if you are wanting to get a card graded so that you can trade it, increase its value, or show it off, I would suggest just double sleeving it. Most members of the community will not be as impressed with a graded MTG card.
