Future of Brimaz

Will Brimaz, King of Oreskos stay at $30 once he leaves standard or will he drop to a more friendly price? I want a few of him in my BW modern token deck but unless I can trade for him that won't be happening soon.

He'll drop hard, I think after a couple of months out of standard, he'll settle at $5-10. He currently doesn't play much of a role in modern and the top tier decks don't want him.

Yeah he has held his price for pretty well his entire tenure in Standard and I assume he will stay there until really close to rotation. When Rotation happens though yeah he will drop unless some miracle build is found that he plays a key part in.

Death and taxes in legacy is using him as a 2 in most cases. I don't think he'll be a $5 card, he was a chase card in a terrible set and born of the gods wasn't opened much so there aren't tons around. He'll probably be $15 or so like Voice of Resurgence looks to be settling at

Maybe 10$.

I would actually put it closer to $15 maybe even pushing $20 long term. It sees enough play and the body is still really well sized, even if a home deck hasn't really been found yet.

Also don't forgot that regardless it's still a mythic in a small set that wasn't terribly popular and wasn't heavily opened. That inflates the price higher than normal.

I'm running 4 in standard. The card flat out kicks ass.

I'd say 15 likeVoice of ResurgenceMTG Card: Voice of Resurgence is a realistic prediction, (though I'm certain Voice will be a lot more than 15 come next modern season.) . Brimaz, King of Oreskos offers so much utility, it blocks, it attacks, it creates tokens that do the same.

Come next rotation. I'm certainly running 4x Voice of Resurgence & 4x Brimaz, King of Oreskos side by side in modern. Probably with some Loxodon Smiter and a Thrun, the Last Troll .

Any one think Fleecemane Lion is modern playable? Sure it's no Tarmogoyf but it fits the midrange curve quite nicely.

APPLE01DOJ Probably not on Fleecemane Lion . The monstrous might as well not exist in a format with cheap removal, and otherwise Watchwolf looks pretty bad compared to stuff like Wild Nacatl , Kird Ape , Steppe Lynx and even Flinthoof Boar .

True that, good point and nice comparison.

So...should I buy now or will waiting be better with a huge price swing? He has quite a run left in standard right?

Really all depends on what you need him for. Like anything, if you need him now, get him. I needed 2 so was forced to pick him up at $30+. Did I like it? Not really but had to be done lol.

He is not dropping anytime soon thats for sure. Pretty well anything with a white base has Brimaz in it right now for the most part.

I don't want him for standard, xGhostx. I need him as a 2 of in a BW modern token deck. That said...until he plummets I can probably run other stuff in place of him for now. I run Hero of Bladehold . Maybe just 2 more of those until his price comes down? Any other suggestions?
