Getting started selling on Ebay, pointers?

Hey all, I need to make a few bucks before shipping off to college in the fall so I'm selling some of my extra stuff on Ebay. Any pointers from experienced sellers? I'm starting with cards I'm not using from around $5-25, if all goes well I might try and offload some bulk or more choice items.
I'd much appreciate any advice y'all can provide.
Thanks,
Jay

alulien, as an experienced trader I'm hoping it will be an easy transition. I'm going to be using bids and BINs, and I'm gonna sort of lowball myself early on. I don't mind taking a few bucks loss to start establishing a seller reputation (Example, I have 2 Pendelhavens up with starting bid of $18). Thanks for your input!
And sorry Epoch, wasn't sure if it was TP or Econ material.

As long as you're ok with the 12.5%ish fee that ebay/paypal charges you for their service, ebay is pretty straightforward. I'd honestly rather sell cards to other people on this site if the card values aren't over $10-$15 since it's less costly than dealing with both shipping and ebay/paypal fees on ebay. If you have high-value cards, ebay might give you a better price, but I'd still try sites like tappedout first just to get a feel of how the cards will sell.

Never fear taking a gamble on big bucks cards and listing them to start at .99. You get a lot of people to watch it and provoke bidding wars

I've bought a few cards on the site and I think if you treat it like a Tappedout trade (good communication, clear description, prompt send upon receipt of payment) you'll be one of the better sellers out there.
A good, clear picture (no glare/weird tablecloth to make one question if there are markings or etc.) also goes a long way, I think.
Are you going the bid or buy it route? I'm going to be trying my own hand at selling some things and am going the buy it route. If you do as well, build your shipping cost in to the price of the card - I see a lot of decently priced cards made too expensive by shipping. Hope that makes sense. If you go bidding make sure you set that reserve or start the bids high.
Good luck!
