sorry for two posts in one night! Anyway, I've been seeing a lot of speculation that a reprint of Tarmogoyf will actually drive it's price up. I recently pulled a copy (in the only modern masters booster I've ever opened) and have no real interest in using him. The question is: will his price rise enough that I'm losing significant value by offloading him now? Should I wait a bit for the price jump I keep hearing about (though I'm not convinced a $200 card has much room to jump...)?

It's unlikely he will jump significantly. I see his price staying pretty much the same as what it is currently at, $175

Channelfireball is selling them for 100$ a pop, so I think it will drop in time.

Channel Fireball is selling them for $175 for MM2, $179.99 for FS, and $189.99 for MM. If you found one for $100 and didn't buy it, you lost a fantastic deal.

I expect them to drop to around 100$ while MM2 is being opened and when supply runs low, they will rapidly climb. MM went from like 100 to 120 to 140 to 150 really really quick. Probably the fastest price increase I've seen in a card.

its funny to watch prices fluctuate. with the 1st mm set, the price spiked, and the newer art was more expensive. but now that it has 2 printings, the new are is dropping, and the entire price is beginning to creep down. im not positive, but i believe this mm2 set has a larger print run than the 1st did., so it will be interesting to see what happens to the price.
my opinion? i think the new art will settle around 150, old art a little higher

That's a reasonable prediction. Would it be too much to hope that he might drop to $95 to $100 at some point down the line?

Honestly? Probably, yea. $100 for the best green card in legacy AND modern is a bit low. Considering that it's not on the reserve list, it might happen, but i doubt it.
Anyway, off topic, what do we think Vend Clique will bottom out at? I've seen some on ebay for $47-50 and i'm thinking that's a damn good price for the card.

A reprint itself shouldn't increase the price. MM1 increased Goyf prices because caused a lot more people to enter the format. Goyf prices would have spiked even if it wasn't reprint.

I think that, this time, it will drop. There are even more copies in circulation.
