Gaea's Cradle 2.0. It's starting it at 50 foil and 20 non. I can see everyone speculating on this card since gaea's cradle (while on the rl) has done nothing but go up. I have a feeling this is just hype price right now, but I do think it could be at a huge price tag. Any thoughts on when I should grab my playsets? Right before gp's? After?
The problem is because it doesn't start as a land, it will only work for commander, no other format will want it. As such I'm fairly confident it won't remain even close to that price. Ramunap Excavator is a functional Crucible of Worlds but is significantly cheaper, and it is useful in multiple Formats without having so many drawbacks like growing rights does compared to gaea's cradle. I doubt it'll stay above $10 at the highest tbh

Ramunap Excavator is a terrible parallel to draw because its inherently worse than its counterpart for being a creature. It's a great card, but its much less than Crucible because on the whole its worse.
Growing Rites of Itlimoc is a card that is generally not terrible to have in creature heavy decks, as an impulse for creatures. They may not play cards like that right now, but if it rewards them for playing their deck normally with a Gaea's Cradle (and a strictly better one at that) they'll certainly consider it. Yes on the whole its worse than Cradle because you have to put a little bit of effort into it, but most cards are arguably worse than Gaea's Cradle. And again, its effort that decks which will play it are putting in anyway.
Its never going to command an unreasonable price tag because sets are printed in such high volume, and its merely a rare as opposed to mythic. But, its playability will keep it at a strong financial position; its easily a modern playable.

It's huge for Modern Elves as they have the dorks and token producers to spit out tons more critters. However I don't think they'll be able to utilize a playset. Legacy Elves has Cradle, which is better and can be found with Crop Rotation. Rites still may be found in Legacy Elves as a one of for the dig and draw, though. Every EDH deck that is, again, creature heavy will want one. The demand is definitely there, but I think it will be extremely niche for Modern and moreso a card for EDH. That being said, I doubt this card will hold a $20 tag after release.
