Hangarback walker?

So, I am thinking of trading off my 3x Hangarback Walkers, but I need to know whether it's worth waiting for them to go up, or if they won't.

Thanks

That depends on Shadows at this point if you ask me. Now would be a safe time to sell though I think.

They won't go up. Trading now is a good choice if you're not currently using them.

Yeah just as a third opinion to break the split I think it will be hard for this card to go up because inistrad probably wont support artifacts so I would just get rid of them

EmblemMan,
Why do you say Innistrad probably won't support Artifacts?

Original Innistrad block had some pretty impressive artifacts, and while there were only 48, that was a little over 7% of the set. That's low compared to Origins (9%), but WAY over Khans (5%) and Zendikar II (3%). After BFZ and OGW, I'm thinking we're actually due for a little Artifact love.

Im not saying that we wont get artifacts I just mean I dont think there will be powerful synergies with artifacts like Ghostfire Blade Pia and Kiran Nalaar things like that because we just got them I dont think it will be supported in innistrad it also just does not seem like an innistrad thing but at the same time I dont know too much about that set

Also, selling them or trading them is the best option if you are a standard player. Origins will be rotating out after the release of Shadows, which means that its standard usefulness is compromised, and the price drops.

PistonGolem is wrong, Origins doesn't rotate out until the Fall 2016 set comes out.

What about Modern? Doesn't Hangarback Walker see Affinity play? Anywhere else?

Shadow will have plenty of artifacts.

Feel it's very possible we could see a reprint of Butcher's Cleaver and Sharpened Pitchfork will be in the main set.

I just want some new swords. SOI seems like a good place to print a R/B, U/B, or R/G sword.

IF they reprint swords they'll be utter garbage compared to their predecessors.

But that would make sense with having Nahiri on the scene.

Hangarback Walker is still good in Standard until roughly October. That being said, I use mine in Standard, Modern, and Legacy. They work. They are just good cards. As mentioned, there probably will not be direct support for the card. However, it is just a great filler card. It can go in just about any deck.

As for value, it seems to be dropping now. LONG term (and I mean years), I think it will go back up, possibly to where it was in the fall, maybe somewhat higher. Hangarback Walker is an Eternal card. If you need the money now, and you do not need the card, sell because it will probably drop a bit more in the coming months before the price stabilizes and then slowly starts to go back up.
