Recently I have been seeing Harbinger of the Tides get a good amount of play in merfolk. I was wondering if it was a good idea to pick up a playset or two as soon as I can. It seems like it could only go up.

I'm not a Merfolk player, so I could be totally wrong about this, but I think you are right. The card seems very good in Merfolk, so I could definitely see it going up. I'm not sure how much it could go up while it is in Standard, so you are probably not in any rush to buy, but over time I definitely see it rising as long as it is a Merfolk staple.

I don't have a merfolk deck, but I'll be trying to get a playset since I'm sure it will be a future Merfolk staple.

The thing about merfolk decks is that it does not change often. People know about the card and people play the card as they see fit. I dont know why it is this cheap but it might be because it doesnt want to be the staple people expect. It could change I just have reason to believe that it might not much.

It actually hasn't seen as much play as you'd think. Look at recent modern tournaments results, not many Harbingers in Top 8.
